Good and Bad Buying at Lidl and Aldi (***Please don't expire***)

From Aldi, the ocean catch frozen fish burgers they do for £1.39 or thereabouts. 2 in a box, quite large and taste just like the McDonalds filet-o-fish when served in a brioche bun also from Aldi. Someone at work told me about it so I thought I would give them a whirl.
From Aldi, the Lacura miracle hair and body oil which was £3.99. I can't believe I was spending £20+ for the same product by Elizabeth Arden. The copycat version at Aldi is exactly the same, smells the same, has the same texture and efficacy!2 -

Eta: have just looked online and it does seem to be packaged to replicate EA. It also says it's no longer available.

It smells quite medicine like but I've found some EA products especially the 8 hour creams to have this.
Is it discontinued? Oh pants. I only saw them when I went to Aldi about a month ago. Bought 4 bottles because of the price. Until recently I was buying the EA version as almost 5 x the cost.1 -
Like a lot of us, I have been limiting my travel during the current fun and games, which has meant no trips to Aldi for a couple of months. The alternative has been a local privately owned supermarket supplemented with a few home deliveries. Last week, having decided enough was most decidedly, enough, I headed back to my favourite Aldi. It was a revelation (happily, minus the four horsemen).
Nearing the checkout, regarding at the small mountain of shopping I'd collected, I guesstimated a bill of about £100. In fact, it came to just £55. I had simply lost touch with how much money I save when I shop with Aldi, it is, frankly, quite astonishing. There has been a lot of talk about the 'new normal' Well, the new normal for me is going to be much the same as the old normal with Aldi getting almost all of my business!

Tell me about it! Having to do online shopping with Sainsbury’s and Tesco now, but it’s costing around 40% more now, with no difference, obviously, in quality.Stompa3 -

My experience is the same, Im shopping more in Tesco at the moment because our Lidl have decided to get rid of the doorman and its a bloody mad house in there. Rocked up the other day and said to DH I bet its busy in there ( no queue but also no trolleys ) and it really was bedlam , so once again we left and joined the test queue , where they are so strict its like having the shop all to yourself
The cost of it all is breaking my heart3 -
Thanks for posting your shopping experiences here everyone, very interesting! I realise now how I lucky I am. Our local Lidl's, where I usually shop, hasn't been bad at all with small queues and 2 people per trolley allowed in each time we've shopped there. People usually keeping their distance and apologising if they realise that they are holding you up with your shopping! (Quite nice actually!)
Unfortunately not the same experience at Poundland in a nearby town last week, where people were appearing from behind you to grab what they wanted! I won't be going back there for a long while!
I realise that this is off thread but wanted to mention that I've been ordering online for top up items like cheese, eggs, bread from Iceland. I find them reasonably priced and delivery spots are usually available within a few days. (Free delivery over £35 spend.) Hope that helps someone. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
