How to sue Together Energy

Hi Andy,
Sorry, probably wasn't clear.. I've never paid TE a penny! I've tried to so many times, but they can't get the act together.. There won't be a refund - only a bill coming my way.. What I want to know is where do I stand as I have attempted to pay this multiple times but they're too disorganized to even take my money.
Thanks

Good afternoon
Following this thread as i'm in the same position with Together Energy at the moment - my case is currently with the Ombudsman. I suspect that TE owe me about £500 on my final bill0 -

There's no need to wait for the Ombudsman. Work out what your final bill should be and the resulting credit. Contact your bank and ask them to refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme. They will usually make the refund the next day.0 -

I'm not really sure the DD Indemnity Scheme can be used for this purpose. If you haven't been misbilled (at least as far as them taking it early or more than they said they would) then you don't really have a claim.0 -

The only fiddly bit is that they can only refund whole payments. They gave me the option of over or under claiming, so I claimed about £5 less than I was owed.0 -
What happens when you switch energy providers, and have a credit balance with the old supplier?
I have about £250credit with together energy and have just switched, is it going to be a massive fight to get my £250 back from them?
got another DD of £70 due on the 1st to TE should I cancel that?0 -
Definitely cancel your DD before they try to take another payment, which according to both this forum and Trustpilot they often do.
In terms of getting your credit back, they should provide a timely final bill and timely refund. Again, history shows that this does not generally happen, at which point you can invoke the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme.0 -

Hi Josh, Understood. In that case I would put the money you owe them in a savings account and don't stress about it. I would not waste anymore time on the matter if I was you. I would also cancel the direct debit, so if they do chase you are in the driving seat as to when you pay them. Treat them like they treat their customers with contempt.
I got my money back from TE this week, but it took since February to do so. In the end the Ombudsman had to intervene.
Good luck.

ive not had a bill or even account number for 6 months.... despite contacting them multiple times.... ive now left and launched an ombwardsman complaint so see if i can get anywhere with that
utter shambles of a company0 -
I noticed your post about Together Energy. I left them in January 2019 and am STILL trying to get my £200+ back from them. This is theft!0
