its not really gonna make that much of a differance, a couple quid here and there on a tank. Driving is still cheaper relativly now compared to the past

The car is still cheaper than the train for me to get to work (£1.80 v £5) and the train takes 2x as long, 1 change and a 3 mile walk every day

So not an issue.

Where I live there is no choice - There is no public transport to go to where I work - and not at stupid oclock when I have to be at work. I work 12hr shifts, so there is nothing to consider for me.... Other than Work or not to work..... I choose WORK and using my car.

I have a company car the mileage rate is not enough to run a 2 litre diesel car on and I have asked the company to look at the rate as they haven't increased it for many years.

Having said that I have to do my job so I don't have a choice I will have to pay, I read somewhere yesterday that a £50 fill up is £35 tax which is pretty disgusting in my book.

Not really that much of an issue to me..it has to be paid for we use £150 -£200 per week of diesel all tax deductible as we have a taxi and I can't work without it so just have to swallow it....but what happens in our case is that if it goes too high then the council will put a surcharge on the fares to cover it or put the fares up permanently...we've just had an 8 1/2% increase as the insurance and maintainence costs have gone up...but I guess it will affect everything including the price of food in the shops,bus fares etc...I feel quite a recession looming....but have thought this has been on the way for the last 3 years..think we may all have a very rocky road ahead unfortunately

doesnt bother me overly as work pays mine, but in saying that its more money out of my account through the expenses stages and thats not ideal.

Compared to what we were paying say 6 months ago or even 12 months ago. Then again has anybody considered bio diesel which has one form commonly known as veg oil ?

I seem to remember petrol prices hitting £1 last year so they aren't really any different! :undecided
