The other is a Rover 600 with a 1980's vintage Perkins engine, 100% Bio no problem provided its not too cold
Anyone thinking of using Bio should consult their manufacturers data first, for some it voids the warranty, for others it just wont start because the flash point of Bio is too high for the glow plugs fitted
Oh and make sure that you have a receipt showing that duty has been paid. When the authorities notice your car smells like a burger van they immediately assume that you have been putting domestic veggie oil in
You can do a 10% diesel and 90% oil mix. Still cheaper than diesel @ 99pONLY COPY WHAT I AM DOING IF YOU ARE 100% SURE AND YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE END RESULT MAY BE. from july this year everybody has a personal allowance of 2500 litres of bio diesel. This si duty free. The thing is your limit actually starts when you are told by a official otherwise you are open to use as much as you want to in theory.ONLY COPY WHAT I AM DOING IF YOU ARE 100% SURE AND YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE END RESULT MAY BE. yesI'm off out to mug old ladies for their pension to pay for my petrol.
No I'm kidding, not sure how much longer we can afford to run the car though, then I'll be pushing the missus in her wheelchair 3+ miles to go to Tesco as I'm not even going to think about struggling onto the bus.Winnings

Have they had a secret subsidy or something ?!
It was the small hauliers who were complaining. Either they've passed on the cost to their customers, or they've gone bust. The large hauliers don't complain - they win either way."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I know i am going to push it a bit but why do you not get a toyota lucida(diesel). These run perfectly on veg oil with a 10% diesel mix when it gets cold.ONLY COPY WHAT I AM DOING IF YOU ARE 100% SURE AND YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE END RESULT MAY BE. If I remember rightly, our democratic government at the time threatened to imprison them. Also, a certain Mr Williams who was one of the organisers of the protests now actively supports the Torys (cant remember if he got elected, know he was thinking of it.) - Which is the same party pretty much responsible for the cost of fuel being what it is - it was them that introduced the "Fuel Esculator".
Problem with fuel is the tax - we must be the only country that pays a tax rate of over 400% - and then when we add VAT, we effectively pay tax on tax.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
