  • In the Western Isles, petrol and diesel have been over the £1 mark for the last two and a half years! At the moment, petrol is £1.09.9 a litre. I nearly died when I moved to Aberdeen and found it was 20p a litre cheaper......although now it's crept up to 96.9p a litre.

There's a thing on Facebook to do with boycotting BP and Esso - apparently it might bring the prices down

Just to be controversial here (for a change :rotfl:) it's not the oil companies fault that prices are so high. Most of the price of a gallon is tax - first of all. Second, oil companies don't set the price on the world markets - that's our old friend supply and demand.

Having said that - you should *always* shop around for fuel.

Doubt that! If anything it'll drive the prices even further up because they're not selling enough to make the shareholders happy!

  • Yes Bailiffchaser, we have a morrisons petrol station which was 100.09p per litre today. That tends to be our cheapest station round here. The rest are owned by shell, texaco, BP, esso etc.
