If there isn't a hard-border what would stop Eastern European immigrants entering UK via Ireland??

I have no personal dislike for any other nationalities,
but I just don't understand why people have this wierd obsession/fetish for moving to live in a different country rather than their own?!?

It's not difficult, you are born in a country, you growup there, you are a full citizen of that country, so just live there.

but some people haven't been lucky enough to have been born in to an economically developed country - and want to better themselves...I don't see the issue in that.

In a micro level - should anyone that wasn't born in London no be allowed to work in London?

If there is a skills shortage / vacancy you are fill - why shouldn't you take advantage?

That's the reasons thousands travel from up north to work in London. To enjoy the benefit of increased wages offered down here.

It's not an obsession, it just happens. It's part of our lives as successful members of the global elite.
I don't need to go to other countries, I just get asked (sometimes begged) because of my skills.

I realise all this might sound rather alien to you. :)
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

It's been a while since people never left the village they were born in. It's easy to travel and their skills can be useful so why punish them because they were born somewhere else?

"so just live there" so you're telling me, if our wages were £3 an hour, you had no healthcare etc, and you found a job in another country which payed much better wages, where you could afford basic luxuries, you wouldn't take it? You're a fool. People move to make a better life for themselves. So what do you think of the retired British immigrants who live in Spain? Should they have not moved to another country? Very few speak Spanish, they don't work. But, they wanted a better life for themselves, which they deserve. But not according to you.

I have 3 kids and earn minimum wage even before using any services we take much more out of the tax system through tax credits than we pay in through all taxes combined. If my kids were abroad all that money would just be leaking straight out of the economy so would not even be recirculated as the bank savings you mention are.

Societies are delicate and can become disfunctional if expected to change toquickly ,similarly infrastructure can only be grown slowly. This means that the UK can best cope with immigration at a measured pace. Given this I would rather we selected the best talent who wanted to come as high up the productivity scale as possible rather than spending our entire capacity to integrate new arrivals on easter European car wash attendants. But I guess the former might impact on the pay rises of the middle classes whereas the later only hurts the lower paid was as a side benefit holding prices down for the middle classes.

Fair enough if you are benefitting but why not be honest about your motivation rather than just chanting racist at those in favour of reduced in one equality through international skills specific migration targets?

How did you vote in the last election?

Do you think it would be a happy bloodless reunification like the fall of the Berlin Wall?

Do you think there would be no ramifications on the mainland?

    Nope.

    Nope.

That doesn't mean it isn't the right thing to do.

I'm with you there. I think we should have free movement of people within all countries. Then everyone can move to where jobs are available.
    ...

No, not free movement. Just the ability to advertise for the best talent / best value wherever you see it.

If China became "the place" to secure valuable work in 2 decades time, I would not advocate 1 billion people from Africa and the Middle East just moving there on the off chance of work. Their Green credentials would be shot to bits.

You need systems which match supply with demand, not an open tap.

If there isn't a hard-border what would stop British emigrants leaving the UK via Ireland?

I am fed up with mass immigration into Eastern Europe.
(Less than 45% of the population of Warsaw is Polish)

Everyone in political spheres is getting their knickers in a twist about the idea of a hard border between Britain & Europe being a bad idea somehow,
But I personally don't quite understand how on earth emigration can be controlled unless there is a hard border??

As what would stop British immigrants simply just flying from their own country to Northern Ireland (UK), then travelling south into Republic of Ireland (EU), and then once in Southern Ireland just travelling over the sea into other parts of the EU such as Poland??

Because why on earth would anyone from England want to go and live in Poland?!? :rotfl::rotfl:

Its cheap yes, but wages match that accordingly, plus totally different society culturally.

Poland has no issue with being flooded with English immigrants,
but England does have a major problem with being flooded and overwhelmed with Polish immigrants.

(If it wasn't for all this immigration here from Eastern Europe we would of had no demand for Brexit).

If it was going to happen it already would of. You just perceive there to be a greater proportion of Eastern Europeans than there is because of your prejudices.
