Ally pleased to hear you survived. Are you off work for the weekend?

  • Hi all! Survived would be the way I describe this week too Ally. Fingers crossed next week is easier for all who are struggling one way or another. A late check in this week as back to work has been overwhelming, lots backed up, and lots of travelling. Progress made, though I don’t know how long I want to keep working like this!
    Some small things for today:
DD at an event, I walked her to the minibus for 6am rather than a taxi, she had negotiated a closer pick up than the letter suggested!!
Now defrosting with a hot water bottle.
Have a job application to draft today
Need to pack for forthcoming trip really carefully so luggage doesn’t become a problem. Away for multiple weeks and very different activities!
Catch up tv. Need to renew tv licence.
Continue eating up and freezing from the fridge!
Be realistic about sorting out my travel budget!

Managed some really tricky not very palatable frogs in the margins of other dramas this week. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • Dust stairs and landing - nope
    • Cross fingers that car battery survives the cold snap! - crossed fingers. Unknown if battery ok ;)

    Morning Friday Friends,
Sorry to hear there are so many health worries, poorlinesses & low spirits among our number at the moment. Love to everyone. I'm frankly amazed not to have succumbed yet to my annual New Year lergy.

You're obviously made of stronger stuff this year, Foxgloves.

Determined and Ally hope you're both feeling better.

Thanks, PF, right now I'm feeling great.

    Hi February Fund Finders,

    Morning!:coffee: W.e.e.k.e.n.d. I feel pretty good today.

As I cleared EVERYTHING on my frog and to do list last weekend and have pretty much kept up with life admin I've not got a long list today. I feel clear-headed. Go me!

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Check DW's online banking. Done.

    * Check in on eBay selling. Done.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. Will walk. Done. Walked, or should I say skated(!), 1km at the RSPB.

    * Continue to read free magazine from charity I support. This is taking forever.

    * Make more homemade cheese. Goat's cheese in progress. Need to buy more rennet.

    * Take out butternut squash soup to defrost for tomorrow. Done.

    * I have developed an arthritic ankle after wrecking it a year and a half ago. Make a plan for handling this. Done.

    * Make use of RSPB subscription to get free entry to reserve. Done.

    Hello all :)
The snow is slowly going :j (bored of it now!!) and rain forecast tonight should see off the last of it. Good thing too, as the minor / local roads, footpaths etc are still lethal :(
Kept the stove in overnight (don't usually do this)
Might have ordered a propagator and some more seeds :o
HM soup and cheese scones from yesterday for lunch

OH got a breast of lamb out of the freezer for dinner, and boned and trimmed it. I will make some stuffing for it. Hopefully I can find the garden sage in the snow! Haven't cooked this for years - not my favourite I must admit, but we have it, so it will be eaten.
Listed some handbags on FB marketplace
    Started a shopping list

Lazy day again - glad when the snow and ice are gone and I can stop being a hermit! I don't like driving or walking in it :o

    Afternoon all,

Dawn, I hope that the roads/pavements are clear soon, I too hate venturing out in bad weather.
Ally & dickenslass, glad you survived the week! Ally, you sound a lot brighter.

Its another cold day here but very little evidence of the snow apart from when we drove over the hill to my parents this morning.

We managed a lie in (again...2 consecutive days thats unheard of!) then shared bath water before heading out to my parents for brunch, it was really nice to catch up with them and so nice not to have to cook!
I also came home with a nail care set from my mum after a conversation about ds1 losing 1 piece of mine.
My dad sent us back with 3 more boxes of simp1ycook (so 12 recipes/spice mixes etc) after telling him we'd used one of the last ones he'd given us! He'd got them as a free trial thing ages ago and as he'd referred me and my sis to get the free trial he got the extra boxes free too!
He also gave me a gammon joint to cook as it was a big one and it wouldn't fit in his dish, so I'm going to cook it and he said just to give him half back tomorrow when I see him.
Called into co0p on the way back as we needed bread for families lunch boxes tomorrow, also picked up some ys Jacobs cracker Christmas boxes heavily reduced, we got a couple of extra boxes that I've not put aside for when we go for our easter break with extended family.
Home now, need to cook the gammon joint which will be useful for tomorrows sandwiches and I'll have to tweak the meal plan. Also need to book gym sessions for the week.

Then going to re watch Mission Impossible 1 with dh with a hot chocolate and fleecey blanket as the kids are happy to be home and on their games consoles again.

    Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
