What small DFW things will you do w/c 28th Jan?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

PurpleFairy Thank you for starting this week's thread :A
Unlike PurpleFairy I don't have a list yet and unlike Happy Kitties I haven't dealt with any frogs.
Sunday one of the regular activities was rescheduled to the morning, resulting in 5 of out in the morning/lunch and all at home in the afternoon, dd had to miss an activity as they clashed. Once we were all home we weren't very productive due to everyone being washed out recovering from and or coming down with new illnesses and quiet a few of us also have on going health issues. Thankfully we had made dinner on Saturday. The children both did lessons, standard household chores were done. But big epic fail, we haven't written this week's meal plan, so I won't be shopping today
Today's list
LSD - only Children's sports training
HE for free, except above training
Meal plan
Write shopping list
All meals from stores
Pack snacks to take with us
Take water and a hot drink for me to training
Turn off lights and appliances not in use
Open curtains for natural light
Close curtains before dark to retain the heat
Make porridge
Make bread
Wash hair and let it dry naturallyFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Hi all,
Reporting once more after going AWOL, apologies, some bad news last week and poorly OH over the weekend meant I haven’t been on the interwebs much. Not too much unplanned spending though, apart from my taking us for a cafe brunch on Saturday for a cheering treat.
Just caught up with last week’s thread and was sad to have missed the bird watch thingy! Although probably no point as the dog patrols *his* garden ruthlessly, and all we ever see are determined grey squirrels and magpies when he’s corralled indoors :rotfl:
OK, to small DFW things:
- Bike to work AM
- Gym later to justify membership
- Meals and snacks from stores
- Take everything out of small fridge, ready to unload & defrost bigger one – I’ll do the great defrost tomorrow night, as I have to rustle up a few things from the last of the freezer contents and I won’t have time today. Anyone want a spare camembert? Anything with cow’s milk brings me out in hives or I would have scoffed it long ago
- Sort clean laundry from the weekend
Feeling very January-ish today… think the only solution is to KBO really.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -

Only tip I have for myself is to take action and apply for another job. Can't keep hanging on to one that makes me unhappy just for the sake of 2 extra days off a week.
Other than that force myself to do the things I need to to move forward, take the pup out for long walks (it's impossible to feel glum when he is so joyful!) and do some things that bring me joy. I'm in a bit of a funk with my sewing as well as have struggled with some bits recently that makes me feel like I'm still a long way off making my dream a reality
But moping about all of this won't make me happy! Bit by bit, little by little, action will lead to resultsDF as at 30/12/16
