I was trawling through the fb page and saw you have had a tough time at work. Sorry to hear that and know how it feels! Hope things look better now, or in the very near future x

I have spent the last 2 hours on a job application. Just have the supporting statement now so going to have a break, sew and ponder. Have also seen another one that closes tomorrow as well. Going to be a busy evening for me today! Actually quite in to it now, after getting over my sulk of not wanting to be job hunting :o

Thanks. Everything got on top of me.

    Good luck.

Ally, Sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time with work, are you still having to travel to the other site? I hope that going back tomorrow goes ok.

    Hi all :hello:

Well it's a busy few days here, I am having such a crazy week at work. Honestly don't know how I'm going to get everything done. I responded to this in typical merida fashion by adding a load of "ABSOLUTELY MUST GET DONE" tasks to my home list. None of these, apart from feeding myself and the dog, were really all that critical. Why do I never learn?

    Monday's list:
    - Bike to work AM - done :D
    - Gym later to justify membership -done, was brilliant and I feel I'm getting my mojo back in this arena :D
    - Meals and snacks from stores - done
    - Take everything out of small fridge, ready to unload & defrost bigger one – I’ll do the great defrost tomorrow night, as I have to rustle up a few things from the last of the freezer contents and I won’t have time today. Anyone want a spare camembert? Anything with cow’s milk brings me out in hives or I would have scoffed it long ago  - done, on Tuesday. Camembert currently stinking out tiny fridge.
    - Sort clean laundry from the weekend - not done

    Yesterday:
    - bike to work AM - done!
    - all meals and snacks from stores - done
    - make apple turnovers with leftover apples and pastry - done
    - make marmalade with leftover oranges and limes - attempted. Failed. Left it on too high a simmer and ran off to do other jobs, until I smelled burnt orange... Felt a right fool :o
    - turn fridge off - done!
    - move study around to make home gym, as I'm on the waiting list for most sessions this week at the proper gym - done, and as soon as I was finished I found out I got into today's class
    - daily jobs - empty robot hoover, feed dog and myself, etc etc - done
    - put bins out - done
    - put clean laundry away - still not done
    - some other stuff I can't remember now, but in my mind I was a hopeless failure for not completing last night - who knows?!

    Today:
    - gym AM - done, highlight of the day tbh
    - meals and snacks from stores - done, apple turnovers doing sterling service
    - clean fridge and turn it back on
    - daily jobs - empty robot hoover, feed dog and myself, etc etc
    - loadsa work tonight :(

Hope everyone is having a good day :) x

I am also quite masochistic in this way too :o always opt for taking the hardest route possible! When we moved into our house in the month preceding the exchange of contracts and moving in we had the busiest social month we have had in the 11 years we have been together :rotfl:

Thank-you. At present I'm not travelling. I'm praying for a simple day tomorrow.

  • Morning all :hello: cold here and looking at the weather won't warm up until later but the heavy snow forecast seems to have passed us thankfully. If you've got it, stay safe.

    My list for today:
    Wfh :j
Run later (when it warms up)
Get prescription for dd. No charge
Some chicken out of freezer for tea, make curry
    Sort a box out
Online message again with bank, still one thing to resolve
Update sheet and line up all accounts ready for payday tomorrow :j
    Small to prepaid session tonight
Wash hair with soap bar, dry naturally
Cheapie porridge all round for breakfast

Tonight I'll also attempt to start the socks again. Huge kudos to anyway who knits socks :rotfl: Tried 3 times, 3 rd attempt going well until I dropped a stitch and couldn't pick it back up on row 2 and had to frog it. I will persevere :D

Have a good day all. Purps.
  • Purps I think it took me 3 attempts before I was able to knit socks. Was really frustrating! But so satisfying when you finally get it :D

Darn my mood still very low. I'm going to have to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't pick up over the next week go to the drs. Keep hoping it'll lift but it doesn't :(

    Today:

    * have made madam packed lunch. She's entitled to free school meals as under universal free school meals.Having a packed lunch seems such a treat to her. I wonder how she'll view it when she has to have pack up most days after y2 :rotfl:
    * complete and submit application
    * getting my hair cut and coloured :)
    * madam for eye test this afternoon at the hospital
    * will go to a couple of shops that are that side of town after appt & nip to sm to get the bits not got yesterday
    * I want to cut out fabric for jumpsuit I'm making. In an ideal world I would like it complete for next weekend. That may be overly ambitious though! It's made from stretch velvet so some jiggery pokery needed to get the nap right (look at me using sewing jargon :D :rotfl:) and I need to shorten the pattern before cutting out
    * chicken out of freezer for stir fry
    * make a batch of chilli for work
    * would be nice to go for a walk but not sure I'll have time....

Ok that will do. Better get on

    Morning folks!

Big hugs to all the poorlies and those feeling low xx
Ally - I hope work went ok

A lazy start for me as it's my "Saturday". Nature treated me to a gorgeous sunrise. It's very cold and frosty out there but clear and sunny now.

It's not a very mse day as I'm getting my hair done. Just don't ask how much it costs :o:eek:
However it was always my ambition to have ridiculously coloured hair (it's pink and purple) and now I have it :D if circumstances change, I can always start doing it myself again. My hairdresser is amazing though. Even though my hair is completely bleached to take the colour, it feels soft and strong still.

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores - done
    • Free coffee and cake in the hairdressers - done
    • Take knitting to hairdressers. She doesn't usually let me put my glasses back on though so I may just have to let my mind wander. It's hard for 5 hours! - done
    • Big budget day with OH. I reconciled last month last night - very good month. I aim to have another one despite going on holiday! - done
    • OH to pick up Brexit food stash from Asda - done
    • Tidy round and straighten house out. It looks like a bomb has hit it. I don't understand how 2 people make so much disorder. Especially as we are both quite tidy!. - Much better!
    • Messaged colleague to see if he wanted to buy a voucher off me. - He does.
    • Wash, chop and freeze a big bag of kale. I'm prone to wasting it :o. - done
    • Sort out car paperwork - done
I might add more... off for some brekkie and coffee number 2 now :)

    Have a good one all
