Try doing it just after (or during) a hot shower when perhaps it will be slightly loosened by the damp heat.
  • Have you tried soaking the stains in white vinegar, Ive done this previously but dipping kitchen roll in white vinegar and pasting over Shower door and then leaving for a hour or so before washing off with a cloth and water.

if u have any use cillet bang. I live in a hard water area and neither vinegar or lemon juice touched it! Cillet bang gets is gleaming, just spray on and wipe it all over the screen, leave for a min (or I leave for 5 even though it says not too!) then just wipe/rinse off :)

Try getting a squeezee from Wilkinsons or £land, for the future and persuade all the family to use it when they get out of the shower. Vinegar will work on the harder spots eventually will take a few times. DG

I don't think I have any white vinegar, have plenty of malt though... do you think that would work?

Viakal is brilliant, I use it on my shower screen and it really gets the watermarks off. You can get it at Wilkos.

I always wipe the shower screen with a microfibre cloth after showering - it helps to prevent the build-up. Here in France we have something called AntiKal which I clean the screen with; it's probably the same as Viakal so I would definitely try that.

There is a much older thread on the same issue or shower screen spray is a more recent thread with loads of ideas on the very same thing:)

Have a read and one of us will merge this later on

Yes, it will work just the same. Vinegar is vinegar. The only difference between the clear stuff and the brown is that the brown stuff is coloured with caramel.

I had cold-water taps which were clogged with lime-scale and a soak with some vinegar on cotton-wool removed clumps of it.
