Does anyone have one? I'm sure I have read about using vinegar but I can't remember what else to include and how much to use.

I've just finished a spray bottle and it's ready to go!

Any acid will do - vinegar, lemon juice or coke (phosphoric acid).

Just use neat vinegar :D You can dilute it, but that will reduce its eficiency.

Whatever anyone says, don;t add bicarbonate of soda - that will just react with the vinegar and will definitely reduce its cleaning power.

And please be extremely careful when mixing chemicals and cleaning agents - see this thread for more details.

Cheers for this-I wasn't planning on mixing other cleaning products with it but on the previous thread I'm sure it was:

Vinegar, an essential oil (not sure which), water and something else. I can't remember what it was and searching has not helped - but I am not very good at using the search on here.

At least I know I can just use water and vinegar and it will work. I have not managed to find stardrops around here (after looking in the recommended places.)

Yep! That's the one, thanks for your help.

I am going to use (for anyone interested)

    1 part vinegar
    2 parts water
    4 drops of tea tree
    4 drops of lemon juice

I'll see how it goes and might change the amounts accordingly.

One third Stardrops (a concentrated soapless detergent), tap water and white vinegar.

I understand the caution about mixing things, but this is tried and tested, and has not eaten it's way out of the bottle or evolved into a new life form.

    Hi everyone.

I'm wondering whether anyone could advise how to get rid of about ermmm three years of water build up on a shower screen?:o I can ASSURE you it is not my shower, but a shower I will be using soon.

I have washed it all down every day last week first with hot soapy water and then sprayed Glass cleaner on it and it still won't shift. Also, the shower is pretty grimy, I bleached that and scrubbed that but it doesn't look much better.

I can't afford to replace the glass or the tray, surely there must be some heavy duty industrial cleaner out there that I am not privvy too???

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Msdee :j

There is a whole thread about cleaning various parts of showers - cleaning glass shower doors/shower screens , so have a read through and you should find some brilliant ideas!

I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep the information together

Also shower screen spray should offer some great ideas too , cleaning shower drain

    thanks:)

Try neat vinegar. As that's an acid and lime-scale is alkaline the vinegar should shift it
