  • Morning all :hello: glad I could be of service on the laundry front :D it really allows you to see what you do and don't need. I'm off work today whoop :j

Although I've written myself a stupidly long list, some will get shifted to the weekend but it's good to have ambitions :rotfl::
    Go for a health check
    Claim free hot drink after
Take a bag of stuff to charity shop
    Go for a run
    Call man about our oven
Call man about a door frame
Reconcile banking, our old heating care provider have randomly put £70 in my account today, hmm.
Update bullet journal with a couple of dates
Sort out 1 box in garage
Do meal plan post veg box delivery
Try and have a hours relaxing in the house when it's just me. Really doesn't happen very often.

Think that's about it for now, check back later. Purps.
  • Clf, I have this image of you and the gas man now...

Oi oi! If you'd seen him you wouldn't :rotfl:

    Morning all!

I feel like a bit of a freak because I already have a method to fold fitted sheets :o having said that, the video might be even better than my method so maybe I should watch it.

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Gym this morning - done
    • Take sofa cover to the laundrette as it doesn't fit in the machine. It's desperate for a clean at the mo - done
    • While cover is in the machine, nip to hairdressers so they can take a bit of hair for a strand test - done
    • Use reusable mooncup - done
    • Start crocheting leaves using bits of autumn coloured yarn retrieved from stash yesterday (starting another project? Moi?)
    • Meal plan - done
    • Poss food shop today - done
    Have a good one all

    Hi January Joy-Seekers,

Morning!:coffee: Not in work again now until next week so I have lots of time to fill.

Had a busy couple of days and yesterday I was helping Police with their enquiries about a community matter I witnessed which took up a long time and is ongoing. (No sympathy required. I'm not a victim in this incident.)

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. Will walk later. Managed 1km.

    * Make goats' cheese this morning. DW bought me a kit for my birthday. Done. Nom nom.

    * Go see Dippy the Dinosaur at a Museum in Glasgow this afternoon. Entrance is free. Epic. Go see Dippy On Tour!

    * Discovered that the Ice Hockey League I follow is sometimes televised on Freesat Freesports channel. Taped the late night show and watched it this morning.

    * Go through prescription medicines drawer and audit. Taking a few boxes to the pharmacy for disposal as they're long out of date.

    * I use custom-made pens and propelling pencils. Send pencil back to craftsman for repair. Done.

    * Lunch is batch-cooked soup. Done.

    * Sort out underwear. Make a pile of that which is 'past it'. Wear past it underwear one more time and then dispose of. Done.

    Free activity

The Big Garden Birdwatch starts on Saturday and it's free. You don't have to send away for the pack you can download it if you're not sure which birdie is which. This year, as well as birds, people are being asked to spot badgers, foxes, grey squirrels, red squirrels, muntjac deer, roe deer, frogs and toads. Then you report your sightings online on a really quick form. (Link)

Aww, bless you for your interest. My current status in my signature but I'm not sure if it's visible on all browser platforms.

To achieve 500 miles I need to do 42 miles per month.

In January so far I've done [STRIKE]39.23[/STRIKE] 39.85 miles out of 42 needed so I should be able to manage January's quota.

I actually got the idea from Ziggy who suggested it.

    Morning all,
Up early ready to start my Big Budget Day, but then a slow start because of a laptop go-slow. It may have been the bank's site, but it could equally have been our increasingly sulky laptop. I'm sure I will return one day to find that mr f has hurled it into the pond. Anyway, today's useful frugal activity:
    *Reconciled January's budget.
    *Set February's budget.
    *Paid CC bill in full.
*Wrote up a new grocery budget tracker sheet for the new financial month.
*Checked date & means of our annual Prime renewal.
*Check how far mr f has got with sending back a below standard item to Rainforest seller. As in.....not the item pictured, box scuffed on 6 corners, torn, sticky mark on the front & seal broken. I am convinced this is a returned item which has been sent out again to potential suckers. Wrong move, Matey. Would probably have kept if it had been for us, but it's for a gift & I'm not happy to give something that looks second hand & shabby when we paid full price!
    *Big filing session
*Sort seed box (as this fell off my list yesterday due to needing to discuss 2 major ongoing sagas with mr f)
*Make a list of tasks I can usefully get done in town tomorrow - we won't have a lot of time, so every shop visit will have to count, which means I need a blimming good list, & not one which says 'Look at xxx' or 'Possibly buy yyyy'.
*Added £5 of leftover January Personal Spends cash into my secret little tin. If I build that up a bit, it is bound to come in useful at some point in the year if I want a 'free' (as in budget-neutral) treat.
*Continue reading my charity shop novel.
*Knit - cast on 2nd big hiking sock last night & want to crack on with that, so I can start on Stash 2019 Project #2.
Wishing everyone a peaceful & productive Friday,
    F x

    Afternoon all :)
Up and out early this morning as I had an appointment to get my hair cut. Feels much better now :)
I walked into town and back for free exercise :)
Took some nice mugs to the CS as I have enough mugs
Returned some light bulbs to Poundstretcher and exchanged for ones that are the right size :o (not sure if Poundstretcher are a national chain, or just local, but if you have one near you, it is definitely worth a try)

Planted some shallots when I got back, fed up with seeing them on the dresser!
    Tidied kitchen
Bits from fridge for lunch, dinner will be leftover chicken from yesterday :)
Must triage fridge - may make a quiche to use up odds and ends :)
Must read meters and enter readings on energy company's web site
Ordered an Amazon voucher for DD1's upcoming birthday as I didn't have a clue what to get her. She can choose her own books - her tastes are a lot more 'literary' than mine :o

Update spending diary and spreadsheet - January is a very spendy month

    RM surveys stuff
Heating off at present as it is suddenly quite mild again

Will do a bit more pottering in the garden I think :)
And then a bit more tidying in the house
More coffee before I tackle the next thing I think!
