What small DFW things will you do w/c 21st January 2019?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning!
Thanks to DNMS for starting us off
Ally - sorry, somehow I missed your post yesterday re the dictation function - I will investigate
Dickenslass, ccl, lpp and other poorlies, I hope you are feeling better
Lots sorted last night. We did the budget sheet and used OH's half of the Christmas money to buy him some recording software. I told him that I expect him to write a Christmas masterpiece. Apparently Noddy Holder of Slade makes £250k PER YEAR just from the rights to that song. Told OH I expect to be rich
Also took the exec decision not to go over to friends this weekend, thus saving food, diesel, drinks and b&b cost. Just was racking up a lot for one night.
Also discovered that my new slippers that mum gave me for Christmas are mismatched. One is size 3-4 and one is 5-6. Will attempt to take them back to Sainsbury's this weekend.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores - done
- Heating off all day - done
- Charge phone in work
- Gym at lunchtime - good session
- No alcohol - done
- Crochet glove
- Use free focus app - done

Many thanks for starting us off DNMS
Had a productive but snail weekend. Didn't overdo it, i am sleeping more-results from docs today, it is becoming very tedious but fair play they are keeping the infection at bay.
More decluttering done. When I had the oven on I made sure it was filled so I had meals sorted for all over the weekend. So today
*take items to the CS
*must get to Morrisi@ns to pick up a few bits
*banking all checked
*cats all cleaned
*paperwork day today......did spend a hour last night hunting the details of a frog down so will start to deal with that today.
*DW all ready to go one a quick run
*will probably do the same with the WM today, have enough to go in
* want to follow YouTube instruction at some point to neatly fold a fitted sheet, as I have been working on the linen cupboard having a good tidy and sort out
That's about it from me
Have a good day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all,
HK, I agree with CLF, you are great
Hope the poorlies are feeling better soon.
Quick check in from me as I've had to pop home as a parcel is 7 stops away from me apparently.
A medium term tenant has moved out over the last week and left the house we rent out in a mess, going to take quite a bit of time this week to sort (and work around the hospital appointments) so if I don't get chance to post much be assured I'm still working on the "small things" as they're in-grained in me now!
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi January Joy-Seekers,
Morning!:coffee: Not in work today. Was up early photographing the Lunar Eclipse; free entertainment. Celebrating my birthday today: although it's actually tomorrow. I was over on the wrong week again and then the thread was offline.
Thanks for the starter DNM.
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:
* Check online banking. Done.
* Lunch is leftover curry for me and a toastie for Fussy Pants DW. Done.
* Reheat and drink a coffee in the Domestic Nuclear Reactor Fussy Pants DW rejected at breakfast. Done.
* Install keys on new keyring before I lose it. Done.
* Make a modification to my handmade-ish handlebar bag. The velcro straps are insufficient, I'm going to put buckles on instead. Done.
* Cut my address portion from junkmail to stick on the back of any parcels I send. Done.
* Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. Will cycle a short way later.
* Finish reading secondhand book from local bookshop.
* Read free magazine from charity I support. Done.
* Figure out a way to fish out tweezers from a gap in the floor they've fallen down. Done, if anyone needs a rookie laparoscopic surgeon I'm your woman. :rotfl:

Small wins today
* whilst clearing out the other house I have claimed
** an unopened tub of quality streets
** a desk tidy - its a mess but its wood and I'll be able to paint it
** some dishwasher tablets
** 4 plastic platters, I can use these when we're doing picnics in the garden for all the veggies and/or fruitI was looking online for something like this just a week ago.
** a laundry airer, its a bigger one then I have so going to give it a try and decide whether to keep it or not
* did an online chat with the rain forest people to make a complaint and they've given me 30 days extention to my prime membership as a gesture of goodwill
* rang the hospital and can get ds's bloods done the same afternoon as his other appointment so only trip there with him this week instead of two
I've also done
** 2 loads on the quick 30 degree wash
** run the dishwasher on the quick wash
** not eaten any junk as I've been so busy
** made families lunches for tomorrow
** gym and refilled water bottle twice
** checked banking
** rang the dvla which was on my frog list - not solved but I know what I need to do now at least
Thats about it, just waiting for some pasta to cook to go with the meatballs I prepped the other day so a nice quick and easy tea which is always good after a day of icky cleaning when the old me would have thought sod it and order a take away!
Hope everyone is well.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
