    Morning folks!

A busy evening on the thread! - I'm just about to catch up on the thread. I don't know what's gotten into me this morning but I am really chipper :D
(I'm now nervous about what the universe will bring me!)

Not a lot doing today - just the usual.
    • B/L/D from stores (mmmm scampi and chips for tea!) - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Gym session at lunch time (yay nice recovery day) - done
    • Crochet - done
    • OH to do housework - done
    • Put washing on 30 deg - done
    • Put washing away
    • Work out where to stash 4 bottles of homemade wine - done
    • Poss a small drink. - done
    • Research veggie haggis recipe - done
    • Gave away some unrequired seeds to work colleagues. Not mse but nice to be helpful :) - done
    • Ring Sainsbury's to see if slippers can be returned (saves a journey for no reason) - done. Should be fine to return
    • Ring to book onto hen night
    • Ring student loans to set up direct debit - done. Apparently I have about £500 left to run? :)
    Have a good one all

  • Need to triage the freezer and eat up to empty ASAP. I keep finding puddles on the floor, but no sign of anything actually defrosting. Something needs looking at though

Where are the puddles? I think that freezers have a overflow tray thing for condensation. If it's blocked it could be overflowing?

    Morning

Turn off lights and appliances not in use
Open curtains fully to make the most of the light
Close curtains before it gets dark to keep the warmth in
    Home educate children for free
    PAD
Pack snacks and drinks for tomorrow
    Get clothes out for tomorrow
    Sort cash out for tomorrow
    Write Wednesday's small shopping list
Look into any food preparation I can do today for the rest of the week
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

    Morning Pence Wranglers,
Keeping busy today as it's today that mr f hears whether he still has a job. I have everything crossed & have even told cat to cross his paws or no treats today (he ignored me & 'said' he was going back to bed anyway!
    Today's plans:
*Try not to worry too much about the above (already failing on that one!)
*Jam the marmalade oranges I prepped yesterday. Recycled jars all at the ready for sterilising.
*Most of yesterday's laundry dry on heated airer. Forgot to set timer for cheaper overnight load so have put it on to wash this morning at 30 degrees on a fairly short cycle to make up for some of the saving I have lost.
*Birthday card written - from my stash. Today's brisk walk will be a trot down to the post box later.
*Batch cooked turkey curry tonight, so a 'freebie' there.
*Continue knitting Stash #1 project (have already gone on about that in my dfw so shan't repeat myself)
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch. Work snacks already done.
*Another 2 decluttered item added to charity pile - mr f reckons it's worth trying some of this pile through 'Ziffit', so I will add that to the list to do over the next week or two.
*Rifle through freezer to see how many ingredients for tomorrow's tamale pie I can source from its icy depths.
*Bath, hair wash & bit of a pamper - still using up samples of upmarket products I procured on our last city centre trip.
*Source nephew's birthday gifts having asked for (& received!) a comprehensive list from him. The bit that made me laugh was the last line, which said 'Mum says I need socks'.
OK, time to leave my cosy HQ & go downstairs to see if the marmalade peel is soft enough for jamming.
Stay warm all. No signs of snow yet, but the forecast did look a bit dodgy, so I might find some suet & porridge oats for our feathered friends.
    Bye,

Found cashback on cb site I had forgot about so that's a bonus.
Chase House of Fraser as sent vouchers off ages ago but heard nothing (probably a dead loss i think)
Take steroids for lingering cough - hopefully will give me some much needed energy.
Get few hours productive OU studies done
Try & find a PetsatH coupon as dear older pooch is having much needed groom tomorrow and it is expensive (but she is matted so it has to be done)

    Welcome back :)

I made a cowboy pie this week. I bet it would be a hit with the LOs. Essentially it's
    • Tin of baked beans
    • A meat of your choice (I had turkey but any bits of left overs would do - you could even add other types of beans if you wanted to make it veggie)
    • Onions
    • Any other bits of veg you want to sneak in
    • Fry up in a pan. Add some bbq sauce/ketchup/general bits of flavouring
    • Top with mash and cheese and bake like a shepherd's pie until bubbling (about 45 mins in a hot oven)

  • You are always so bright and positive despite not being well - you're a big inspiration :)

    Many thanks CLF and 1LL.:)
I do find it hard going sometimes, there were a few tears over Christmas when DD was home as I did struggle some days.
Hoping it wont be too long before I get my funding back but by the looks of it, it will go further into medical negligence against the health board now :(

Happy birthday Ally:T.......first thing I did when catching up in the posts was to check quidco (always forget)
Welcome to the newbies, it is a great thread, always keeps me on the straight and narrow:D
Foxgloves I hope everything goes okay with DH

Managed to get some recycling done at Tesc@s this morning. Noticed that they have put the cat food tins up by 50p a pack now.
RM surveys all done and updated.
    Banking checked-everything good
    Cat cleaning all done
    Meeting tonight-prep done
Trying to deal with more frogs-cba will be start after a cuppa:)
Didn't have a great night of sleep last night, daren't go upstairs and do some paperwork as I know I will drop off and miss my meeting.
Youngest cat currently trying to destroy the house, the others are all tucked up in bed as it's cold here, but youngest having none of it.

After a couple of attempts I managed to fold my fitted sheet using utube instructions. Really pleased with myself as I am slowly sorting out the airing cupboard and it is slowly beginning to look so much neater.not finished yet, it has been my mission for January but really pleased and it doesn't cost any money to sort :A

    That's about it from me.
Have a great day everyone x

    Hi January Joy-Seekers,

Afternoon!:coffee: Not in work today. DW is unwell so am probably off on a wee adventure by myself this afternoon probably over to the island by ferry for £3.30 for a bit of wildlife photography for a couple of hours. Best birthday gift today: snow! :j

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Lunch is 12p noodles and fridge shrapnel. Done.

    * Cut my address portion from junkmail to stick on the back of any parcels I send. Done.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. Undecided whether to walk or cycle later. Caught the £3.30 ferry to the island and walked nearly 5km.

    * Finish reading secondhand book from local bookshop. Still haven't got round to this.

    * Celebrate birthday frugally. Chinese takeaway last night, ice-hockey match tickets last weekend. Sensible gifts gratefully received.
