Sorry that I've been MIA folks. It's a combination of half term and that my little mate (my 95 year old 4 ft 10 next door neighbour) died yesterday. It was expected as I found her quite poorly in October and spilled the beans to her loving family (really, that wasn't sarcasm, they all adored her) as she'd been hiding it from them. I won't go into detail, but we were expecting it. It's still hard though. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.....

Take care all of you :)

Sorry to hear about your neighbour. It's just as hard to take when it's expected. Take care of yourself.

Was so looking forward to a weekend away visiting grandkids, but sadly 3 of them are down with chicken pox, so can't go. Can't even risk seeing the others due to medication (I'm to avoid chicken pox & TB). Did have a mini blip on the binge eating last night once OH had gone to bed - 2 slices toast & a magnum - stopped myself eating a 2nd so a small victory. Looking forward to my self-help book arriving.

    Good morning everyone :hello:
I am another one with a gain to report of +3lb. I am annoyed but not surprised as my eating pattern has been rubbish for the past few days and I have missed out on taking my water tablet as my legs have been really sore and there have been a few too many near misses getting to the loo in time.

We had a chinese takeaway last night which was not very nice as it was cold and greasy and the little bit I ate of it had my blood sugar rocket. Today I am back to eating sensibly and looking forward to my fruit and veg again. I have shopping being delivered this morning so my fruit basket can be filled up again.

Cranky, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, even if expected it is still very sad. Take care of yourself xx

My menu today looks like this:
b - scrambled eggs, plum tomatoes and toast
    l - veggie stuffed peppers
d - chicken curry and cauliflower rice
    s - fruit
  • I’m back from holiday ,relaxed, tanned and 3 lbs heavier ! VERY cross with myself for giving in to the tempting hotel food and too many alcoholic drinks. SO on with the food battle again and MrL joining me .Sorry to the group for the extra pounds gained .

Reading back I see many of us suffer from binge eating ,such a weighty burden to carry and one I identify with .Not so frequent now I have a happier life but it doesn’t take much to trigger me .It helps to talk with others and hopefully we can support one another.
  • Just been for a swim. Now roasting veggies for lunch and am going to set out for a long walk soon. I really want to make this work. I have a bit of a goal now. One of my nieces is having an 18th birthday party in May. The will be a smasher of a party as they have a lovely big garden and it will be a great do. I am making a declaration to be at my target weight by then. I need an aim.

Sorry to hear about your neighbour Cranky40, what a shock. Even when you know it's coming it still comes as a shock I think.

Uh oh. The 3 lb weight gain has spread!
MrsL and dumpling, we are all in the same boat. Let's get rowing and see if we can burn off those extras we've indulged in! See if we can lose that 3 again in the next week or so. :)

Hi all, I’ve been away for a few days with DH in York. Diet was completely blown so not looking forward to my weigh in. We had a lovely time but omg, who is that woman with the chins in all my photos? Definitely going to crank it up a notch now I’m home!
  • Dumpling and Slowdown let’s not let it happen this week , we can do this cos we’ve done it before ,so a big fat minus for us all this week .Dandy can hope you’ve not done too much damage ,time to get on it again. Cranky so sorry about your neighbour and well done with not letting the sadness affect your healthy eating.
  • Evening all

Just wanted to post my weight, which is -900 gramms which I am pleased with!

This week will be a problematic one as everything happens at once, I've already eaten out today - and just realised that I haven't had any fruit or veg all day but am still too full to eat something healthy - and then there will be another two meals out on Wednesday and Thursday plus drinks at work on Thursday.... Plus I will be out for three other evenings, so if I want to do some sports it will have to be tomorrow, on Tuesday or after the drinks on Wednesday.... I have no idea why everything always happens at the same time...

have a lovely evening everyone! I'll reply later. Well done on everyone who lost weight!

    Good morning everyone :hello:
It's funny how one good day leads on to another one and the same is definitely true for bad days too. Yesterday was a very good day and I have woken up feeling very positive and that I can do this. One of my main motivators is how much my kids worry about me, they have all said at different times that they fear me not being here anymore. In my arrogance I would always brush it off but after getting double pneumonia at the New Year I am very much aware of my mortality and I do have the strong desire to see my kids all grown up and settled. I will be 50 in April and would love to see 60 so today is going to be a good day too.

I have made a potato salad to go with roast chicken and salad as none of us wanted a roast dinner today. The sun is shining and this makes me hope that Spring is near now. I am looking forward to lighter meals and fresh seasonal produce.

b - ham and pickle sandwich
    l - roast chicken salad
d - not sure yet, will see what we have left over from lunch.
    s - tangerines

I am going to look for some new recipes as we are most definitely in a rut when it comes to meals. I feel more able to help cook now as well instead of expecting my family to do it all. I hope you all have a good day too x

I'm home - I came out of hospital yesterday. Op went well but I'm on a couple of crutches for a few weeks so I can do very little except getting bored.
Food in hosp was rather good and plentiful, even down to a wine list - no good for a diet though.

Back to reality now, I did plan ahead and make several meals which are now in the freezer so It's just a matter of defrosting and putting them in the microwave. I'm cutting out all the extra bits and pieces - the chocolates have been passed over to my slender husband (why can't we all have a high metabolism??), and I'm just going to stick with a light lunch and a sensible dinner.

I need to record what I eat so.....
L:- two pieces of toast, small piece of pate, 2 satsumas and an apple.
D:- carrots, beans, sweet potato, 5oz meat, ice-cream
