Last couple of days have been fine. I'm steadily working my way through all the frozen veg in the freezer saved from the veg plot last summer. They're mainly being turned into soup but some strange combinations are emerging; some never to be repeated:D At the moment I have an aubergine concoction in the fridge, it looks hideous as the frozen aubergines are now a delicate shade of grey but tastes OK if I shut my eyes:rotfl:
Hopeful for the weigh-in on Monday
It's one year to the day as on the 1st of Feb last year I was in theatre for 11hrs having open heart surgery, but I feel so well now :j. - I think a small celebration is due tonight.
Unfortunately or fortunately (I'm not sure which) I'm back in hosp the middle of this month for a different type of op. Yesterday was two appointments at different hospitals for different things and next week I've three more appointments all on different days at yet a third hospital with a forth appt the following week. It's a bit like taking exams as I have to 'pass' all their assessments before they will operate.
Sorry to keep harping on about it but it's getting to me at the moment. I'm trying to not get too stressed as I'm yet another emotional eater.0 -
Morning, and Happy February!

Good morning all,
I went running this morning and it was a good 25 minutes before I started to feel warm all over. The HT is back at school so back to normal except one of his friends slipped on the ice yesterday and appears to have a broken elbow and his best friend is in hospital with suspected appendicitis.
I'm making slimming world sticky chicken for tea tonight but I'll be adding mange tout and baby corn to the recipe. I had a toasted muffin for breakfast, so I'll have some fruit and yogurt for lunch with a sprinkle of protein granola.
There's a lot of losers to record today. Well done all of you. Remember even half a pound is a block of butter gone :rotfl:
savesummore that's similar to what i said - you have 21 meals in a week. If you mess up on one or two that's still a lot of meals left to try and make healthier choices.
katiepants I've added you to the list
AndyW60 do you want to be added to the metric bit or the imperial bit. If you prefer to stick to kg it's no problem.
zafiro I'm glad you're still with us too - I remember how worried you were before your big op. I'd say you deserve a celebration day
dumpling hopefully you're starting to feel a bit better now that it looks like the medication is working properly?
Take care all of you0 -

Evening Everyone.
Woke up to white surfaces this morning but by lunchtime the sun was out and everywhere had melted. I took DGD to school this morning and then went to Yoga, followed by coffee and our weekly ladies get together and chat. I did an hours walk on my own this morning, delivered DGDs teddybear home and then carried on in a big loop. I found her a couple of books in the charity shop, one of which was an autobiography of Jacqueline Wilson up to the age of 11. Its written for children but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it this afternoon myself and think my eighty year old Mother would enjoy it too so I think we'll be passing it round the generations.
Lunch: Smoked salmon with cream cheese, prawns, avocado, spinach, cherry tomatoes and cucumber.
Dinner: Egg, homemade chips and mushrooms. White chocolate and salted caramel icecream (which didn't really fit into my low carb regime!
Treats: Piece of cheese, 4 squares of dark chocolate.
I shall probably do some crocheting early this evening whilst I listen to a podcast and then when DH gets in from collecting someone from the station we shall watch something on TV whilst I carry on making the knitted doll I'm doing. I've just one sole of a foot to make then it needs sewing together and stuffing..
