Brexit the economy and house prices part 7: Brexit Harder

The main difference with the May deal and the Boris deal is that the May deal tied the whole of the UK to the EU indefinitely. In the Boris deal Great Britain is only tied in for the 1 year transition period and Northern Ireland can vote to remove themselves from the EU customs union should they wish to.0

Now Boris chucks them and their unreasonable veto demands under the bus, in order to get a deal over the line, in favour of a cleaner and fairer democratic consent mechanism that represents all parties in NI - prompting a strengthening of Stormont.
Nasty nasty Boris eh. Those poor DUP MPs.
I don't have black and white thinking. I can hold the view that the DUP were able to extract bribes because of their influence, but that doing certain things that will upset them and their voters is also a bad thing.
If you've decided that the EU is bad and you're going to boo and hiss until the end then I'd recommend just going to see a pantomime.0 -
The DUP alliance to the conservatives goes back a long time, same as Labour with Sinn Fein/IRA0

Not really, the only way out of the backstop would be to prove that the EU was negotiating in bad faith, thats quite a hard thing to prove especially since it would be a European court.0 -
Yes I think you can delete your account, I'm not sure though.
No didn't work & I still see their posts.Sailtheworld wrote: »Conspiracy theory I'm afraid.
Well there is a theory that the new deal will keep us tied into the EU anyway, because they still aren't going to let us have our cake and eat it and we like cake.
This isn't the end, it's only the beginning.0 -

The EU said that they wouldn't reopen the negotiated Withdrawl Agreement. They have. Not sure what more one can ask.0 -

Boris agreed to something he said no prime minister ever would. So one all?
I'm waiting for the leavers to thank Gina Miller and apologize to her for all their vile abuse.0
