Brexit the economy and house prices part 7: Brexit Harder

The problem for Labour MPs is that this deal is going to be worse from their point of view than May's was, fewer protections in terms of workers rights, regulatory divergence etc.
Why is this a problem?
Labour can sign off on the deal, win the general election and then put whatever protections they want in place surely?
Isn’t that the whole point of ‘taking back control’0 -

Nope, taking back control is about having less. As the economy tanks there we won't be able to afford the luxury of employee rights.0 -

They aren't. They just arent stupid enough to take a GE that means we fall out of the EU.0

Its all academic really. The DUP have just put the boot in.0

I would prefer that Britain does not leave the EU, but, If there is to be a deal signed which deal is best.
Mays deal or Johnson-Cummings deal.
An impossible question at the moment as we know EVERY detail of Mays deal but nothing YET of Johnson-Cummings.
What I wonder can/will change?
The Withdrawal agreement
The Transition period
The Political DeclarationThere will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

I don't think they'd ever taken their boot out. Everyone has been making positive noises in public while they hope that one of the other factions will veto it.
The DUP's main objection seems to be that the vote held every four years would be democratic & they can't allow that.An impossible question at the moment as we know EVERY detail of Mays deal but nothing YET of Johnson-Cummings.
Parliament have raised similar objections about being asked on Saturday to vote on something that they haven't had enough time to read.
The whole point of the Benn act was to stop Boris from playing such a foolhardy game.0 -
DUP blocks deal, then ERG can't be onboard, and then brexiteers will howl about how remainers are frustrating brexit.. .:money:0

Hasn't it gone quiet now that a deal's been reached? Next the votes, but even some EU sources are suggesting that Boris has played a bit of a blinder because even if (and it is "if") parliament rejects it the tories are almost guaranteed a substantial win in any GE which would no doubt come soon afterwards. Ergo the result would still be a vote to accept the deal, so voting no would only delay the deal and see many MP's lose their seats even sooner!0

Yes, that is exactly what they want you to think. Not long to go now.0
