US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, announces that the UK is is on its own in protecting its ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

As the UK doesn't have enough naval power to do this, Jeremy Hunt today has announced that the UK is attempting to form a maritime protection force with, the EU. As the EU will be a larger player, it will probably be EU run, meaning the British Navy will be taking orders from Brussels.

Well this is a fine start to the coronation of the Little Englander Brexit Emperor, tomorrow.

Well, the secret FCO document from the 70s did state that the average voter failed to appreciate how greatly diminished the UK's importance was, and how reliant on other we were for trade defence etc. Not much has changed since then. But it cannot be said, otherwise you are branded as a remoaner who doesn't believe in his country Project fear bla Bla Bla...

If Remoaners were in charge, they would have never sent rocket to moon. Because it does not make economic sense!

Sending rockets to the moon had a purpose (scientific advancement, technologial willy waving with Russia), but more critically it had a very detailed plan and the experts were left to do their thing.

Brexit doesn't appear to have a plan or any experts (the only reasons I can't back it).

Maintaining status quo always seem easy though not necessarily the correct thing to do.

Now even poorer nations like India can send rockets to moon yet UK/EU can't do that!

You really don't know very much about this topic, do you?

The ESA is (semi-figuratively) light years ahead of India. You apparently missed them landing a probe on a comet which required numerous orbital slingshots over a 12 year mission. Among other things.

Hopefully the UK can retain some involvement after Brexit. As we're being dumped out of Galileo it's not looking too hopeful.

Is that the Galileo that broke down on the 11th July and was only restored to service yesterday?

Only until Brexit. After that as a TCN it will be much more difficult with hurdles to jump such as a Police Check, Health Insurance and a minimum income.

Gone will be the days when a State Pensioner will be able to retire to Spain.

Why are they calling it a "No Deal" Brexit when it's a "No DealS" Brexit?

The EU has 40 Trade Deals with 70 countries. Liam Fox has signed 12 deals with 12 countries.

And Canada are refusing to sign a deal.

I do feel sorry for Brits based on the continent while this has been happening. The Conservatives appalling - xenophobic rhetoric against EU citizens in the UK, hasn't been copied by Brussels, but the huge uncertainty remains.

Doubt it's going to get any better from today either with our Mini Trump either.
