The next few days under a new PM ( not voted by anyone other than 160k odd members of the Conservatives ) Will be interesting. To say the least.
I am of the opinion to let Johnson at it. And we shall see what happens.
I would bet he will not do any better than TM did. But if compromise is in his vocabulary, we might have some hope.0 -

The only way he can get what he wants will be to change the maths with the number of Brexit supporting MP's by calling an election, it really will not matter who voted for him to be PM. If you do not want Brexit do not vote Tory0 -
France has the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, which has never worked properly. It's only ever been able to sail at half it's designed speed and has been plagued with reliability problems. They had planned to share a carrier fleet with the UK, a plan which has been abandoned due to cost.
The UK now has two full aircraft carriers, one of which hasn't ever seen water, and for the foreseeable future never will. The other was meant to take 70 planes, reduced to 40 F-35s due to costs. The relatively short range of these aircraft (1200 miles) means the carrier would be well within range of coastal defence missile strikes or a conventional intercept. Britain also doesn't have enough ships to field a carrier fleet meaning it would be reliant on an ally's navy for protection.

Prior to the arrival of this vessel the last time France and the UK tried to project military might was air strikes against Libya in 2011. David Cameron and Nicoas Sarkozy were far more keen on this than Obama. Although willing to permit the airstrikes, Obama expressed frustration that Europe's two big military powers were again unable to achieve these in their own "backyard" without American logistical support. Nor could either enforce a no-fly zone without America.
So I'm concluding 'no.'
The Daily Express article is two years old. With HMS Queen Elizabeth the situation is quite different to 2011.
Which anti-ship missile system has a 500 mile range?
Oh and HMS Prince of Wales has been launched and is due to start sea trials this year.
So I’m concluding you’re wrong.0 -

Boris isn't a great diplomat or a strong leader. He doesn't even understand most of what he says.
Politics has been polarized with the white supremacists lead by boris and everyone fighting against them.
We learnt last time that there can be no appeasement.0 -

Of course he is. When you despise your own country with a passion like Arky does, a report that paints a positive picture cannot be allowed to stand.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
I haven’t seen any that point to recession, fall in currency and asset price.
Can you link to any?
The Eurozone is in serious trouble. Anyone can see that without the need for a forecast. Negative bond yields are hardly a good sign. German industrial production is falling and Italian debt spells trouble. The Eurozone economy has been moribund since the GFC due to policy errors and the ECB is having to restart QE.
it's only thanks to Mario Draghi that the economy hasn’t fallen off a cliff but Christine Lagarde who is a lawyer and hasn’t a clue about monetary policy will help to push it over.0 -
Indeed, That is another evidence how an arch remonear is grossly informed that led him to reach the wrong conclusion including brexit. How come UK is rated as “third rate military power” if UK is the only few countries with nuclear deterrance. It is only a very naive person will ever reach to that conclusion.
Not to mention apart from a Nato member Uk is only nation in the EU under Commonwelath Five Power Defence Arrangements which include nation with strong Navy presence e.g Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore.
It is like when "Diane Abbott" estimate about the cost of adding the policy on the interview with LBC.
It depends on the year and the method beeing used, UK has always be ranked in the Top five in term of military power.
In addition to the link above This report is 5th January 2019.

Well UK will become “third rate military power” if labour under Corbyn take control this country with a person like Diane Abbott become Home Secretary.
And an arch quizling to you. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

So that’s a no then?
You can’t point to ANY link for negative forecasts for the UK from any respected source?0
