Brexit the economy and house prices part 7: Brexit Harder

@adindas
It’s a go to narrative of your average Remainer to say that the U.K. in all sorts of ways as a result of Brexit is going down the proverbial toilet.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
If you don’t think their economic forecasts are bad then I don’t see how I can I help you.0

Indeed, That is another evidence how an arch remonear is grossly informed that led him to reach the wrong conclusion including brexit. How come UK is rated as “third rate military power” if UK is the only few countries with nuclear deterrance. It is only a very naive person will ever reach to that conclusion.
Not to mention apart from a Nato member Uk is only nation in the EU under Commonwelath Five Power Defence Arrangements which include nation with strong Navy presence e.g Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore.
It is like when "Diane Abbott" estimate about the cost of adding the policy on the interview with LBC.
It depends on the year and the method beeing used, UK has always be ranked in the Top five in term of military power.
In addition to the link above This report is 5th January 2019.

Well UK will become “third rate military power” if labour under Corbyn take control this country with a person like Diane Abbott become Home Secretary.
Everyone else is so far behind the US you may as well not include America in this discussion.
Of the powers that we benchmark ourselves against we roughly align with France. The French have, on paper, more personnel and a bit less operational capacity. On the flip side many of their personnel are conscripts or are in support roles the UK tends to outsource. They also are truly independent.
The UK armed forces are designed to integrate under American command and control, and can't deploy internationally without American logistics. Though it's unclear when America would ever need them. British involvement in the last Gulf War was symbolic. Many of the sorties the RAF flew in the conflict were pointless. USAF didn't need them and the American commanders complained privately that having to place the Brits in a position where they could get their photo opportunity of shooting things was tiresome and impeded the operation overall.
I'm not sure what Diane Abbott has got to do with it. A Labour government would fund increased spending on defence and increase personnel numbers. The Tories have slashed this along with every other public service.0 -

Not at all, this was true in the 1980’s and 1990’s but is certainly not true now. Most of the equipment is general purpose and the UK support logistics are certainly better than the French. Don’t you recall the RAF recently having to support french troops in Africa?0 -
Bad economic forecasts equate to the U.K. going down the toilet?
Why don’t you clarify what you mean by going down the toilet so that we can make relevant responses, rather than making us guess and then picking holes.
I would have said a healthy economy is central to a lot of other aspects such as low crime rate, well funded public services etc.0 -

Going down the toilet to me describes a permanent almost catastrophic state of affairs. I’m not sure that description would apply to the OBR prediction of this week who stated that a no deal would involve an economic recession in 2020 and a return to growth in 2021.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
