Brexit the economy and house prices part 7: Brexit Harder

I am not saying life as we know it will end without a vote. It's just annoying when so much nonsense is said about it. "It's a feature of a presidential system". Ehm, no, it's not. "You're wrong on so many levels". Ehm, care to explain at least one of these so many levels? I still haven't heard what would be the downside in having an automatic confidence vote when the PM and the government change, by the way.0

Which is exactly what he wanted. If he intended to suspend parliament to push through a no deal Brexit he'd just have kept quiet and then done it.
Instead he's blustered about doing it loudly and long enough for MPs to take steps to stop him. Then, when he hasn't delivered Brexit in October, he can blame it on MPs, judges, Jeremy Corbyn's cat, and whatever other enemies of the people he can think of.
If, say, we were dealing with someone so cunning that he planned to ensure he was blocked from suspending parliament and that plan had just come to fruition that sounds like the work of a genius. He doesn't need a cunning plan to blame others for his failures - he's going to do that anyway.
I doubt he's thinking much further ahead than his first step over the threshold of No 10.0 -

The very last thing that Corbyn wants it the moment is a GE considering that his party is in an even bigger mess than the Tories.0 -
In these extreme times I guess it’s possible that an asteroid could destroy parliament0

He's doing quite a good job of pretending otherwise then. Calling for a GE seems to have become his catchphrase.
It's so chaotic at the moment that the future is difficult to predict but Johnson might be worth taking a punt as the shortest serving PM in history. If he commits to a no-deal brexit then could lose a vote of confidence or no-confidence in his first week. Depends on the criteria but he needs to be out within 119 days and never be elected PM again to beat the record. I'm rooting for him.0 -

He has no choice.
Well I suppose he has, but it would be absolutely incredible for him to spend all this time banging on about getting a GE and then bottling the opportunity.
The PLP would go into meltdown.0 -

Jesus even Boris Johnson is expecting it.
Oh I see his desperation for a upfront confidence vote now.
Our friend from South London has convinced himself that Boris would lose that vote.
I think it would be pointless to have a confidence vote until we have a parliamentary pinch point like the advent of no deal.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Don’t we need to do it in advance though.
If we leave it to the last minute won’t that mean no deal by default?
There aren’t any circumstance under which the article 50 clock stops are there?0
