    Your point is?

We know they got a very close referendum wrong. They knew it was close but expected a narrow win.

How does that invalidate the entire field of polling? How come Brexiteers are happy to stand behind the polls that suit them?

To be fair I think it’s mostly about being happy to stand behind the one poll that actually mattered.

Is that the one to joint the EEC in 1975?

No I would personally say it was the last general election.

As a country we were not given a poll regarding joining the EEC. The poll was if we wanted to remain in the EEC after the UK had joined.

And we chose to remain in?

We were not allowed a vote to join the eu. They did their normal trick of saying that all the little details were not treaty changes so that, over time, the eec changed into the monstrous behemouth that is now the eu. They figured that if they didn't say anything we would not notice.

The worst thing is that it was known in 1975 that the eu intended to go this way, but the government of the time and the eu decided to keep it from us.

    Thatcher sold us out.

Wilson was PM in 1975, Labour sold us out as per normal.

Objectivity is not your strongest attribute. Please explain what you mean by a monstrous behemoth & provide proof.

I could argue that we've had an amazing 40 years and if the 52% hadn't sold us out, we could have had another 40 years. There is far more evidence to support that than your viewpoint.

I'm interested what conclusion you have drawn from the last general election. The council and european elections are going to be interesting, it's certainly going to be a landslide for the brexit parties.
