OK, now you can't trust the eu to tell the time. They have voted to scrap daylight saving time.
As far as I can recall the main reason for our maintaining the daylight saving time changes has been to appease the scots, they always said they needed to maintain it. If we have to follow this, and I truly think we should put our foot down on this one (considering the main respondents to the relevant survey were Germans and it was not evenly spread throughout the eu) and do what is best for us, but if we were forced to make a choice the best one for most of the UK would be to stick to GMT, but then the scots would be up in arms. I can see this being one of the most ridiculous rules the eu has ever come up with and one that scots will not like, more so than the rest of the UK.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Member countries will get to choose between sticking to summer or winter time.

They have voted to stop the change. Yes, we would get to choose, but that choice would not be suitable for both ends of this country.
As I said, the survey they did was not evenly spread over the whole of the eu, it was 70% German, obviously it is something the Germans want to do.
Another rule being thrust upon the rest of the eu by a small number that want it.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I'm certainly all for ditching DST; seems like a pretty sensible idea."Not all lies are equal", that's like telling a 4 year old "it's our little secret". Utter drivel:(
It's a lie to call a tomato a vegetable, it's a bigger lie to call it a suspension bridge. It's not a difficult concept; most 4 year olds are familiar with the scale of lies and things like white lies.
That everyone is capable of lying doesn't justify pretty much anything that comes out of the mouths of people like Boris Johson, Nigel Farage or Donald Trump.0 -
I personally think we should have negotiated a trial separation and let the docks seize up. Give boris some time to go down there and waive some union jacks, as that is all he is actually capable of.
When we had a referendum to join the EEC, we new what the rules would be. This time it was a case of voting to leave and no one knew whether we were going to have hardline 100% free trade, a Trump style protectionist system or minor tariffs sytem to protect farmers and steel workers etc.0 -

Yes and 17.4 million still voted to leave, simple as.
I didn’t but we need to accept that however flawed it was (and IMO it was massively flawed) they were still promised that the govt would carry out their wishes.
Should never have been put to a referendum in that form but IT WAS.0 -
But we don't actually know what their wishes are!0
