Called compromise. Better than being obtuse. Everybody has to give a little.

I agree but JRM has not compromised a little, he has chosen to vote for something that by his own words is not in the best interests of his country.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

If I were the DUP then I certainly wouldn't let my future me dictated by any of the inept MPs that would be supported by the ERG.

3 lined Labour whip tonight didn't have the desired effect. About time Corbyn either manned up or stands down. Rather than continuing to play games. Weekends You Gov poll rated him personally as inept as well.

What has that got to do with what you quoted?

As for the 3 line whip, it was widely reported that it was expected that none of them would gain a majority & it's an iterative process to remove the ones with the weakest support and then re-run the votes.

You believe the poll that says that he is inept, but not the one that says remain now has a majority. Interesting....

He's dishonest, we know that. He is out of touch elite and is taking the opportunity to place a puppet in control. If he's successful then at least the leave voters will see we were right all along about what they were actually voting for.

Oh come on. You never thought he actually had a principle, or any conviction other than just re-lining his already generously lined pockets?

I wonder what's happened to make the Tory Brexiteers back down from Brexit. It won't be what's best for Britain, because they don't care about Britain. Which means they've discovered something that affects themselves specifically or would be the end of their chosen vehicle of personal inherited privilege, the Tory Party, in that order.

Mogg said May's deal would be a form of slavery to the EU because we'd have to follow their rules while having no voting rights. Now he's saying he's going to vote for us being slaves because at least we'll technically leave. These people are really extreme in their hate and they are prepared to sacrifice the best interests of the people of this country to achieve their objectives. Some of them are even prepared to threaten the lives of those they hate:-

......and this is what Boris said in his column......but now he's going to vote for May's deal. He's nothing but a self interested liar and opportunist!

old news, I'm not even sure the leavers believe him and they believe lots of stuff.

His calls to xenophobia make him the worst choice of leader possible.

I wonder if parliaments inability to vote for anything is a cry for help? Maybe they want a general election so they can be released? It must be pretty humiliating for them to implement brexit when they know just how damaging to the country it will be.

It's really sick that such an individual is touted as a candidate to replace May as our PM.

He'll be a puppet, they'll just send in some attractive women to ask him to sign stuff. Another secret love child is a small price to pay.

We'd do better with Harvey Weinstein.

I thought all you Remainers were posting here to try and persuade others to change their mind?

Now you complain about PM May trying to persuade people like Mogg to change their mind.

Make your mind up, I say.

All this time has passed and still nobody puts forward the idea of a comprehensive free trade deal. Donald Tusk said one was available right from the day after the referendum! Minimal impact on economy, we'd be able to make trade deals with the rest of the world, EU nationals in UK would be able to stay and no backstop needed. Why is nobody putting this forward in parliament - surely this would have a workable majority at this stage and people would be happier with extensions if this was the path? We get the option of proper Brexit (no deal) or one of a selection of soft Brexits / remain. Am I being an idiot and missing something in thinking that would be the best possible Brexit for both sides? All this time wasted, all the anger and frustration and arguing, when a free trade deal could've been done and dusted by now. Brexit has been utterly ruined by May, Robbins, a vindictive EU, parties playing politics and remainers trying to overturn the referendum. It never needed to be like this - we're an embarassment in the eyes of the world.
Too many people spend money they earned...to buy things they don't want...to impress people they don't like.
