put up a vote and require a 60-65% majority for Remain in order to make it effective.

surely the Leave side, being so confident in their crusade, has nothing to fear from this. if Leave wins again then it solidifies their claim. if they lose, then clearly the so coveted will of the people has changed and should be respected.

or is it fear that their smoke screen and Nigel of Oz overlords are actually full of it, and their xenophobic desires will be quelled?

If there was a referendum it should be on whatever Leave option is eventually going to be put forward, not a re-run of the first and it should be binding.

No more selling multiple different versions of Brexit to different people depending on what they wanted to hear.

Personally I would have no issue with "No Deal" being the leave option on there, if nothing else it would make the nutters in the ERG stand up and campaign for it and actually have to take ownership of it, if they support No Deal and it wins and is implemented, no more blaming the EU or Remoaners if the economy goes down the toilet.

You must surely realise that putting restrictions of any kind on a future "EU referendum Mk II" are dangerous as it would provide ammunition for either side to complain loudly.
That is probably why the first one asked simply "in or out" - and look how many don't like that now that the result isn't what they wanted!

There's no fear (not here any way) except it seems from those who didn't like the result and will do everything they can to ignore it or overturn it.
You can't reasonably expect to ask a question promising to abide by the decision and then renege.
If you were so unhappy with the conditions of the vote, the time to do something about it was before it took place.
Once what was asked has been done would be the right and proper time to ask again - if there is sufficient support for the question to be asked.

When I'm asked what I want and place an order for a G&T at the bar, never once has a barperson handed me a Diet Coke saying "there you go. That was your second choice wasn't it? You changed your mind while you were waiting, didn't you?".
It's ridiculous and unlikely to happen, right?

Yet you for some reason think it's ok to in effect do that for a much more important issue (to many at least) to over 17 million people and can't see why so many would be very unhappy?
Even our useless MP's know how wrong the idea is by voting 334 against the idea to only 85 for.

Show some respect for the referendum and let us leave the EU.

The following foot in mouth by Farage seems not have been given much coverage. Must be Fake News

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Another referendum would be so bitter, it would make the last one look like a tea party.

We would need a delay of a year to organize, meaning we have to put forward EU parliament candidates. I'm not sure the EU want that.

More bitter than death threats against MPs or old ladies who create petitions?

22 weeks will do it according to the electoral commission.

Judging from the tone of your post, yes.

22 weeks will do it according to the electoral commission.

    We haven't got 22 weeks.
We have got less than 3 weeks and you still decided not to even try and explain how you're going to get around the MEP elections, which must be at least partially why our MP's voted against it.
    ;)

Oh, well if you like Twits you can't do much better for an example than the rabidly pro-EU Peston.
