    Evening all :)
Big shop at lidl today, and ordered more for delivery tomorrow from Iceland (post Christmas stock up as I ran all down a bit over Christmas / NY). Empty larders / cupboards make me nervous, and as I haven't really done a proper shop since before Christmas, was getting low / running out of lots of staples  Used £20 of shopping vouchers saved up from surveys towards it. Note that Iceland have a 'sale' at the moment, so lots of offers. Earned OH's undying gratitude as I found bargainous beer in the leftover Christmas stock, still well in date, if that matters for beer (?) :rotfl:Will still need to go to Aldi and Sains to get the bits that Lidl and Icyland don't have. No wonder I don't run my stocks right down very often

    Other things:
Washed hair and left to dry naturally
    Ordered repeat prescription
Inventory of larder, cleaning stuff, toiletries etc - still need to do fridge and freezer. Writing a master list in my diary to help with shopping list making as I always manage to forget something!
HG cooked fruit for breakfast instead of bought fresh fruit :)
    RM surveys stuff
Made a list of the seeds I have in stock, won't need to buy much. Seems to be a day for making lists - probably because it has been wet so haven't been able to get out in the garden!
Still need to check banks and update spreadsheet with today's spends.

Hope you feel better soon btw Ziggy :(
  • Evening all :hello:
Another one not feeling the love today - I've just never managed to get going at all and I feel a bit stressed out with a few things. I will be ok though - hugs to the poorlies and CLF I hope you get the vertigo sorted (mine turned out to be glue ear last summer).
So, January exam season is well underway and my free time dwindles to just about nothing at all for the next month or so. Apologies in advance if my check ins are short, abrupt or missing altogether. I desperately need the extra money and love doing the work but it doesn't half make me tired. I will try and keep the faith with the small things.
Not a nsd - I spent 20p on car parking as I had to pop into town to pick a form up.
Also popped to deliver that form to my solicitor.
    Teaching
    Exam prep
Crossed large 18 month long standing frog off list :o:o
    Meals from leftovers
    Helped both kids with homework.

Can I ask, do you pay for this service? Is it a company that does this?

Hi dizzyblnd, I'm not sure which service you are referring to I'm guessing "lessons for external marking"
Currently, this is the only subject that is externally marked, the course pack, study material and marking are all provided free by a charity. The only thing we need to provide is a pen or pencil to write with, colouring pens or pencils and a stamp per month to return the children's work, they even provide an addressed envelope. At present, I feel confident to teach all subjects to a suitable level and to assess if they are achieving all they can. As they get older we will be using https://www.oxfordhomeschooling.co.uk/ courses.

Thank you for the positive things about our home life that a couple of you have mentioned. Most of the time it is good, sometimes it is fantastic, occasionally frustrating and once in awhile, it causes tears (mine, usually).

Today we did lessons in the morning and then I took ds out to a local HE group (dd normally comes but she is feeling run down due to her cough, so she stayed at home with her Grandparents).

    Today's list:
    PAD
Turn off lights and appliances, not in use
    Stuck to the meal plan
    Drying washing on the airer
Popped into a supermarket for one item which we can not get in our usual supermarket, so I could park for "free"
Picked up a free magazine, I've had a quick glance through and found a recipe I would like to try
All food from stores, except a free piece of fruit, picked up when in the supermarket
Home educated children for low cost
Did not wash my hair, I wore it up instead - gradually I am increasing the time between washes, I used to wash it every other day now it is often 2 days between washes and occasionally 3 days, eventually I plan to give up shampoo completely, mostly for my health (as I have aged my skin is becoming more sensitive to many products), environmental and saving money doesn't hurt.

I forgot to make a hot drink in my thermal mug to take to this afternoons HE group. My friend did the same, unheard of for either of us to forget. I offered to get us both a cuppa, they only cost me a quid (for the 2). Definitely worth it for the joy of spending time with my good friend, somehow feels more special over a cuppa, but next time we will take our own.

Hot drink for commute with morning cuppa
Stretching no shopping another day :D we have fresh veg from our veg box which definitely helps and I'll be doing again
Need to opt out of an auto subscription thing for a free trial
    Small to afterschool club
Mix of things in a smoothies for breakfast, including something on my use up list

Have a good day everyone. Purps.

    Morning all!

Big hugs to all the poorlies and those not feeling the love atm. ccl - excellent work on the frog!

I thought we might be in the email as yesterday I had a pm from MSE Badger saying that I'd been given a badge for being money tipped, but it didn't specify what thread it was for.

As it was just one of those things that I started the thread this week and my lists are probably the least helpful out of all the wonderful contributors on the thread, I have messaged MSE Badger back to ask if all this week's contributors can have a badge too :)

It's my Friday today (woohoo!). First four day (full time hours) week for months! I'm shattered :rotfl:

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores. L almost a flake out but grabbed a portion of soup from the freezer. - ooops have bought some dahl to supplement soup
    • Read the weekly email :D - done
    • Heating off all day (and poss this evening) - done
    • Write up a couple of recipes in folder. Didn't get a chance to do this yesterday - done
    • Pull out birthday card and gift bag from stash for my niece. - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Gym at lunch time - done
    • Poss some crochet. Have been too tired to concentrate the last couple of nights.
    • Sort through seeds
    • No alcohol - done
    • Submit weekly meter readings (my gas usage has reappeared!) - done
Will add more if I think of it.

    Have a good one all

Erm excuse you - two things:
    a) I've got my eye on that particular honour :rotfl:
    b) I find your posts very helpful indeed!

    Update from yesterday:

    - bike to work AM - done!
    - early lunch hour to meet dog walker for trial run - done! He passed :D
    - gym AM - done! Feeling it now :rotfl:
    - all meals and snacks from stores - done! Feta cheese used in a rather untidy quiche, but it tasted nice
    - sort laundry mountain & do some ironing :o- noooo, I watched a couple of old episodes of Grantchester instead. There was nothing stopping me doing this *while* watching Grantchester, and yet it is not done :o

    Today's list:
    - bike to work AM
    - all meals and snacks from stores
    - check bottle stash/find something to take to friend's later
    - attend to eyebrows thereby avoiding beauty parlour visit
    - talk myself out of buying some fancy essential oil roll-ons currently sitting in my rainforest shop basket

Um, can't really think of anything else. I'm not really spending a lot at the moment! So it would be a shame to spoil it with the roller thingies...

  • Morning guys :D Thankfully I am feeling ok this morning :j just in time to go back to work and do 6 x 12 hour shifts over 7 days  Hopefully it won't wipe me out too much....

I feel like I've been productive this morning (reality is it's more a *feeling* than an actuality!) So far:

    * completed current acc application for £150 golden handshake :money:
    * checked HMRC re not needing to complete self assessment. I can see I'm going to have to at this rate...
    * saw a box in a neighbours recycling that was perfect for all my sewing threads so wombled that and have transferred :money: hopefully my sewing box will stop being such a big mess!
    * sorted out the kitchen. Sorted recycling & food bins and put out
    * read newsletter - whoop to us being in it again :j

    Still to do:

    * 45 mins left of crazy hour cleaning. Want to wash some windows, clean bathroom & vacuum our bedroom. Should easily be done :D
    * contact seamstress and ask to meet for a coffee. Looking for a mentor and some advice re setting up/getting started
    * onepoll - blinking heck! I'm £1.60 away from a payout and as usual the surveys have dried up!
    * check banking & do a couple of shuffles
    * look for ms opportunities
    * sewing
    * listen to free podcast
    * get clothes/food ready for next 3 days. Iron all clothes including clothes for madam in case they are needed
    * all meals from stores - get something out of freezer. Better do a meal plan actually....
    * bath, pamper, read book, knit for entertainment

Ok that'll do! Might ask bff if she wants to pop over with gs for tea :D
