Busy few days again and been too tired to post :o.

I have to get a new laptop as I mentioned previously so have spoken to someone locally and we looked for one online that would fit what I need it to do [nothing complicated]. So I went for a machine in JL and applied for one of their 0% CCs. Bit of a different experience as once they approved my application which only took a few days, I went into the store on Thursday morning and they made the card on the spot, I chose a PIN and card was ready to use straight away! So I took the escalator one floor up and bought the laptop and Office which also had money off. £30 voucher will be coming for CC application and there are further vouchers with points on spending .

I then had to rush for a train home as was looking after the tiniest tiny human for a couple of hours and mum and other TH were all staying for tea. I'd made a grown up fish curry and the THs had beans and fish fingers. Once they had gone and I'd washed up and returned the living room to some semblance of order  I needed to book train tickets. Am going to visit my friend whose mum died last weekend so got onto the T@inline via TCB. Did the usual splitting of the journey business and I have a Railcard which gets me 1/3 off so after lots of checking permutations of times etc [its a v long trip] I went to pay with my new JL card and blooming website wouldn't accept the payment. Tried a few times and then called them and apparently they were working on the site and I should try again in an hour.

So bang went my early night but it did work eventually and I'd written down the trains and prices I wanted so didn't take too long phew.

Up early yesterday for work and quite full on day so was pretty tired and preoccupied by the time I got back so managed to walk past the machine at the station where I'd intended to print out my tickets :o:o. Will do that either today or tomorrow then put them somewhere safe, I'll be travelling next Saturday. I've got a busy week at work so will need to get stuff ready for going away as the week goes on.

Going to have some soup for lunch then head out now its not quite so windy. That reminds me, a bit of fence between me and the neighbour's garden has blown down so need to pop in and see what they want to do about it. Always something :(

That *is* busy! Sorry to hear about your friend's mum - I'm sure your friend will appreciate your visit. My own concerns pop up at the top of your post - I'm also looking for a new laptop, a replacement, and I'm *so* impressed you got one from JL! My eldest nephew is prepared to research for me tomorrow (he's a high-end computer bod) so I'll wait and see what he says. Off now to the JL website to ogle their computers :)

Thanks KC, I took lots of advice from someone local who knows about computers and that was v helpful. First time I've ever bought a laptop and so far its gone smoothly. JL were good and do a 2 year warranty which I like . Just got to pay for the blooming thing now

Didn't manage to speak to the neighbours y'day about the fence that has blown down as they were out and then we had heavy rain. So I popped round late morning and had a word. We've decided to leave it until the better weather and then sort something out. Neighbour will take knackered fence to the dump this week.

Bit of an admin catch up today and cat sitter came round to pick up the keys and catch up. Family going to pick up new and old laptops tomorrow and take them to computer guy so will hopefully be up and running soon.

Got a busy week at work with 4 long days so need to try and pace myself a bit and make sure I eat ok. Heading off to bed shortly for an early night.

My going to stay with my friend coincided with the Forum being transmogrified and I didn't really have very good internet access when I was away so been a bit out of circulation MSE wise.  Glad I was able to spend some time with my friend and also go with her to appointments when she was sorting out some of her mum's financial affairs.
I've had a really difficult decision to make and am gutted to say that it was time to let my beautiful cat, big old furry boy go.  He had deteriorated quite fast physically though he was still eating and interacting but in the end the vet thought he might have had an embolism so I didn't want him to suffer further.  Really hard though :'(:'(

Teapot, I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful cat :( You can do what's right for them, but it leaves us with a lot of grief :(
