Enjoy the last of the BF teapot2! Have to say I'll be glad when the city gets a bit quieter. My commute to/from work has more than doubled for the last few weeks!

Enjoy your coffee with your school friend!

Thanks Taka, I did enjoy it, yes bus journeys are sooo looong at the moment. I timed it last week and getting from the west end of Princes Street to Waverley Steps took 31 minutes on the bus :eek: Even I could have walked it quicker :(

Enjoyed the book festival, I saw Ann Cleves who wrote 'Shetland' and writes 'Vera'. She was talking about her new character who is a detective living in North Devon. She is also a passionate supporter of public libraries.

Met my school friend afterwards, was good to have a catch up as its been a while. I don't go to the school reunions and prefer to meet people 1-1 if we are still in touch.

Was really wabbit by the time I got home as it was sooo hot on the bus and it took ages so haven't done much this evening other than water the garden and make a salad for tea.

I cut the grass yesterday so at least thats out of the way but will do more in the garden tomorrow if its not too hot.

I did a couple of Prolific surveys and got a £1.50 bonus as well so up to £8.50 now.

It is especially in this heat :eek:Yes I really like her book and she was talking about how people are shaped by the place they are from which was very evident in her 'Shetland' books. She sets great store by kindness, accepting difference in people and not judging others which are sentiments I approve of :D

Me three ... I didn't realise she wrote Vera as well. To my shame, I haven't even read the Shetland books, though I love the series, came to it very late. I'll be remedying these defects shortly :) All the more because she sounds lovely in herself.

Have a good day, teapot - I think it's cooler up there now?

I watched the TV series of Shetland before I read the books and Dougie Henshaw who plays Perez is physically very different to Ann Cleeve's description of Jimmy Perez in the books. From what I understand, this has put some people off watching the TV series but I didn't find it a problem, was just aware of the differences.

It is cooler up here today thanks and more so now its rained

Didn't sleep very well again, partly the heat I think, Also sleeping with my bedroom window open means I hear the neighbour who bangs their car doors at 5am :mad:and also the very noisy seagulls .

Did some work admin this morning and a bit of cleaning. Also washed the sofa cushion covers as the tiny humans who visit have chocolaty and sticky fingers :p No money found under the cushions - just a paperclip and some crumbs :(. I got the covers dried outside before the rain came on and have put them back on the cushions but will have to refit them as I seem to have put them on so the zip is at the front. I didn't even realise there was a back and a front to the cushions - oh well :o

Made a quorn moussaka type dish and had some for tea, theres enough for tomorrow which is good as I have to go into the city for a work meeting so won't get back until around 8.30pm. Also enough filling to make another meal with spaghetti :money:.

Have done a few Prolifcs today so will be up to £11.50 when all are paid. 1poll has been off line all day again so did a couple of OO surveys.

Weeded the monobloc area at the side of the house for a couple of hours this afternoon. Very tedious, theres lots of moss growing in the cracks and then weeds come up as well so was trying to dislodge some of the moss with the hoe edge. It really needs power washing and resanding between the bricks. Still its been a NSD so thats good and might try for one tomorrow as well. Going to wash up and then chill out. :)

The sleep makes it difficult, doesn't it - I was practically catatonic in the early afternoon, then woke up at about 5pm! Know what you mean about neighbours too - it was green bin day today! Enjoy the chilling out :)
