Enjoyed the book festival plus catch up with friend. Really didn't want to go to work after, wanted to sit in the sun and drink something from the Edinburgh Gin stand but... needs must so off to work I went ;)

Had to take big, old furry boy to the vet today. Because I know him so well, I knew something is not right. He already has special food for his kidney function but it looks like this is the start of his kidneys failing so not sure how long we will have :(.

Nothing going on financially other than the £43 for the vet today. Am tired tonight after 2 long days so will head off to bed soon. No work tomorrow though.

At the book festival apparently there were Edinburgh gin chairs!
Apparently my mum was debating how to get one home for me:rotfl:

Can you remember what the boarding school near you was called which was run by monks?

He's doing ok ta, been out a couple of times and pottered in the garden. I'm just keeping an eye on him and he is being monitored by the vet. Am just going to be grateful for every day I have him in my life and we'll have lots of cuddles together.

Went out for breakfast this morning with family - my turn to pay so just over £20. Got some more bread while I was out, some more fat balls and a couple of books in a charity shop.

Been very sleepy today for some reason and couldn't shake it off. Did manage to do quite bit of weeding and tidying on the garden this afternoon and that woke me up a bit.

Also made a sort of Spanish omelette with fridge bottom veg and some leftover cooked tatties. Had a bit for tea with ratatouille and I'll take some into work tomorrow for lunch. I then roasted more rhubarb with orange zest and honey as well. I think thats the last rhubarb I'll harvest this year as its getting to be quite woody and stringy at this point.

Still no joy with courgettes so I don't think I'll get any now.

No financial news to speak of, I moved the money around various accounts to qualify for cashback but thats about it for now. Off to bed next as up early tomorrow.

Bit knackered hence radio silence :D - all in a good cause though as have been at the Book Festival 3 days in a row. Have really enjoyed it but on top of work, spending time with a friend there and all the travelling its taken a toll on my energy. I had a ticket for an event this evening but as it was sold out I left it at the Box Office as a return so should hopefully get a refund. With gaps between events and weekend bus times I would have had about 5 hours of hanging about and thats too much - didn't plan it very well but worked out ok in the end  I wouldn't have got home until about 10.30pm tonight if I'd waited about

On Friday I went to see Jack Monroe, she was very interesting, funny and open about issues she has/had and the campaigning and work she does. It was a rush after work but glad I managed it.

No news on the financial front I don't think. I've not got any work tomorrow so must sort out the house and contents insurance and get it all set up. Need to do an online food order as well. Definitely an early night planned tonight :)

Excellent reasons for radio silence :) and I'd love to hear Jack Monroe speak at some stage, I bet she's a live wire on a stage.
