Back late from work yesterday and was tired so managed a fairly early night and didn't put the PC on at all. Was an NSD.
I've been looking online to see if I can buy a replacement hose for my vacuum but it seems they have discontinued that part  as none available on any of the sites I looked at. Mending it with ducktape just isn't working so does need replacing. I'll keep looking as don't want to have to buy a new one if possible.
Have had a couple of Prolific surveys today and y'day so once they are paid, it'll bring me to over £20 in total. Had a Ugov one y'day as well - first for a wee while.
I've chased up an invoice that hadn't been paid - just a small one but still.... turned out it hadn't been passed to their finance dept but at least its in the system now.
I cleaned out the bird bath y'day and this morning noticed a big wood pigeon having a bath in it with much shaking and fluffing of feathers. Poor thing was suddenly straddled mid wash by an amorous male so end of bath as she was not interested and who can blame her having been mid soak
I've to go in later for a work meeting so won't be back till late again today. I'll have a proper meal before I go so I'm not tempted [maybe] to snack when I'm out or travelling. Going to do a bit in the garden before I head off so best get on with that.0 -
Not putting the computer on at all is a bit of a victory, isn't it
But isn't the hose thing annoying! Fancy stopping making one part ... its very manipulative of them, actually, I hope you find one. Could you *ask* for one on freegle etc?
Poor wood pigeon :rotfl: that made me laugh.
Hope your day goes well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Thanks KC, yes I could ask for one, I have used Freecycle in the past but not for a while as got fed up with all the emails. We also have a Zerowaste shop, its not a food one like in some places but everything household so thought I'd have a look in there at the weekend
I know its anthropomorphising [sp?] but I could imagine the wood pigeon giving a loud tut as she flew off0 -
No work today so I went to help family with digging a border for their garden and took round some plants I'd potted up to get that started. Wow some huge stones in the soil - builders rubble as its a fairly new house
We went out for lunch after and then home via a walk through the woods. Rain came on when I was nearly home but not too heavy or for long.
Nothing going on money wise, a LSD as needed more bird seed - they are still getting through loads. Also got a small bag of new tatties for my salad tonight. Have done an online T@sco order for next week using another £8 off £40 voucher.
Got to £20 on Prolific so have cashed out. Almost at £20 on 1poll though their website was a bit temperamental after they fiddled with it. Got an email from Prolific to say that as Circle is withdrawing its cashout facility and closing accounts, Prolific will be putting in place a way to make no fee cashouts via P@ypal which will be handy.
Just remembered that its recycling day tomorrow so need to go and put the food and garden waste bins out before it gets dark...0 -
Early start for work today, and then back home around 5.30 to sit in the garden with a cuppa and unwind.
Its been hot and dry today so I watered the garden and the pots for the first time in ages. I believe there is lots of rain forecast after the weekend though.
Transferred the Prolific £20 from Circle to my current account so won't use them again before they close down that service. Only one survey on Prolific today and that was for 9p :rotfl:
Other than that and making a tomato sauce for some prawn pasta, I've had a lazy evening reading and watching some TV I'd recorded.0 -
Went to the Zero Waste place yesterday but they didn't have any vacuums in or hoses. Apparently they do get them so its a case of going back and checking it out every so often. Will also ask on Freecycle. Looked round the charity shop when I was out, paid some money in to my business acct and went for a coffee and scone.
I've now applied for a BT on my new S@insbury CC so waiting to see if it will be approved to go ahead. I rang them up to double check that no fee will be charged as well . Haven't done any matched betting in the week but did a bit over the weekend.
Today was warm again so went out with family to a local Sunday market, I've run out of fruit so got some satsumas, plums and big vine toms. Also bought a fillet of smoked haddock which should be enough for 2 meals in something like risotto or kedgeree. I've not been buying fish recently as its expensive [apart from some tins of tuna]. Also got a couple of 2nd hand books that I've been looking for for a while in the charity shops with no luck so pleased about that.
Its turned a lot cooler this evening so I've shut all the windows and might have to use my heavier duvet tonight. Going to chill out till bedtime0 -

Heading out to work shortly, the weather is much improved on yesterday which was cold, very wet and foggy  was back to my thicker duvet again last night
Hoped the BT might show on my accounts today but not so far so it must still be in the works I guess. A couple of surveys on 1poll and Prolific so they are adding up slowly.
Window cleaners have been this morning which is good as the windows were decidedly murky after the storm we had a couple of weeks ago. I think it was salt deposits left on them as I'm on the coast. Big old furry boy was decidedly unimpressed and shouted at the window cleaners through the back and front windows. I bought him new feeding bowls which are in a holder so they are higher up and it has made a big difference and he is eating more wet food. I had begun to wonder if he was finding it difficult to get down to his food bowls - maybe arthritis and this seems to have really helped
