Oh teapot! Well, happy birthday wishes for yesterday - I can understand it's rough without DH there
if this is the 2nd birthday, you're in the 2nd year, is that right? Often harder than the first, is what people tell me. I'm glad you had your niece to be with, a good family low-level intensity day.
Your financials sound rough - but if you don't feel right about the matched betting, then you're right not to go for it, no matter how profitable it can be when it's done to the formula. We're at the turn of the year, which is a good time for financial mutterings, so I'll keep an eye out for them. Hope your day is a good one.
Thanks KC, yes its 18 months since OH died so not long really in the scheme of things.Happy Birthday Teapot, I am sorry it was tinged with so much sadness. Sending you a dodgy hug :grouphug:
It might be worth posting about your financial issues on here if you feel comfortable doing so, a few fresh pairs of MSE eyes might be able to help x
Thanks Busy Mee, dodgy hug appreciated. I will post my finances soon, been thinking about them :think:0 -
So sorry that I seemed to miss your post about your birthday yesterday.
I can only imagine how difficult it is.

Met a friend for lunch today which was good as not seen her for a while, my turn to pay though. Walked up to the High St afterwards as needed bread for work lunches.
Did some gardening this afternoon, was planning to cut the grass but my neighbours were out in the garden with visitors so didn't want to mow and disturb them.
Have shuffled some money through all my accounts and back again but nothing else going on financially. After tea I stewed some plums which were going soft and will have them with my muesli in the morning. I won't be back from work tomorrow until late so made a pasta sauce as well which I can have with some prawns.0 -
Just started an online order with @sda and noticed they have increased their minimum order to £40 from £25 or they charge an extra £3 if you order less than £40. Am very naffed off with this  as it was helpful that they had a lower minimum than other supermarkets. Click and Collect still has the lower minimum but not much help as I don't have a car. I'll have to have a think about what to do re shopping.
For some reason Prolific has stopped loading on my phone so more difficult to check for surveys unless I'm online on the laptop. Just need 80p to cash out on 1poll so should get there next week though no doubt they will stop surveys when I get to £24.95 and I'll have to email them.
Had a lazy morning with a long lie, few early starts this week so was quite tired. Just been reading and listening to music but finished book now so might get out in the garden as grass still not been cut and the weeds are reappearing everywhere.0 -
As far as grocery shopping is concerned, I do one big shop a month, and then top up the frozen veg in person ... it does make it awkward if something isn't delivered (I changed back to Asda this month, as my £10-off vouchers from Sainsbo had stopped, and Asda only brought me 2 of 8 packets of pasta) but usually, it works really well. Do you do weekly shops? How about fortnightly?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thats weird.
I did an online shop with asda during the week & the minimum had gone up to 35 quid :think:I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I have to say I was less than impressed with some of the quality of the fresh stuff and some of the dates were really poor :mad:I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. The size of the shop needed is one reason I went to monthly shops - I spend anything between £60 and £80, but when its only once a month, thats well within budget.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
