Went to the farm shop & market this morning. Managed not to buy anything but posted birthday pressie to sister and paid in some work cash.

Swept the floors when I got home - vacuum cleaner knackered but as downstairs is all laminate sweeping is ok in the short term. Did some more weeding as well and cut the seed heads off the Welsh Poppies as they self seed so much anyway.

Up to £11.63 on Prolific and just missed out on another survey. Meter readings have been submitted and one CC paid.

Went for a bra fitting last week - first time I've had one [fitting not bra :rotfl:] The woman who measured was lovely and didn't comment on my existing holey and stretched bra  I can't stand bras with wires so ended up with new versions of what I already had but a bigger cup size so feeling much more supported now ;) expensive but necessary.

If you could well stuff worth 38.15 then that would be 10% off your lowest CC :)
How is the big old furry boy?

Thanks Beanie, I do need to give myself a talking to and get on with it.

BOFB is doing ok thanks, he's been out sunning himself and now snoozing on a chair next to mine.

I love welsh poppies Teapot :heart2: So cheerful and easy to grow. You're right about the self-seeding though. I let mine seed last year and now they're everywhere! We have a lot of purple toadflax here too. I'm a big fan of wildflowers - good for the bees and cheap colour in the garden :)

    Morning! Okay, two things:
    - yes, stop under-charging!!! They could always say no, or you could negotiate, or find some higher paying clients. There's a lot of writing out there about charging what you're worth.
    - the poppy seeds (I love the flowers too) made me think - you can eat poppy seeds, you know, people put them in bread and call it artisanal. And nigella seeds, and a load else that grows in our gardens without any effort. Rosemary, lavender, chives, mint, lemon balm, thyme, oregano, all sorts of things. If you watch the pennies when you're looking after them, do you think you could be saving money?

You're right, they are very cheery and I love to see them. I don't know purple toadflax so had to look it up. I've got quite a few wild flowers in the garden - got some free seeds from 'Grow Wild' a couple of years a go and they have done well. It was a mixture specifically for Scotland :). The bees are very busy at the moment which pleases me a lot

I know, I know re undercharging and I need to stop :o:o.

I haven't eaten the poppy seeds as they don't look like the ones you buy so been a bit reluctant. A G@@gle suggests that Welsh Poppy seeds are not for eating but happy to be put right on this??

I grow and use chives, rosemary, 2 types of thyme, oregano. I'm not keen on the taste of lavender too soapy for me but I love the smell. I haven't bought salad for a couple of months as I've been growing salad leaves and planted them so theres a continuous crop. Also done the same with radishes and eat the leaves as well. Tried to grow beetroots as I like to pickle them but its not been successful this year. Hope to have beans as well yum sadly my perpetual spinach isn't very successful this time either :(.

I've grown a couple of courgette plants and will eat the flowers as well, also got nasturtiums in the garden which I quite like though they are a bit peppery :). I planted a couple of rhubarb crowns this year which have established really well. I could do more and will try next year. Am planning to move some plants when they die back later in the year, also dig up a bush and then use the space for veg.

Had a good day out with family, walk in the woods this morning then lunch by the harbour. Walk round some charity shops and mooch about a different High Street.

Did a washing when I got back home then answered some emails and texts. Online shop delivered this evening - first one from Sainsbo and seems ok with reasonably lengthy dates on things.

Quite tired after all that fresh air so heading off to bed
