It is nice to be able to look forward to retirement isn't it? I suppose if I was still working full time then we would be better off now, but as I am only very part time now, then it is a huge increase when I first retire. Then when OH finally retires, which is after me as he is younger, although his pension won't be as much as his wages, at least we won't have so many outgoings.
He also told me yesterday, which I had forgotten, he has 2 other small pensions that I had forgotten about...happy days!:T
A friend of mine said to me yesterday, that maybe the fact that I seem to keep getting ill, is my body's way of telling me its time to retire....lol. Trouble is its just over 4 years till state pension for me, although I do already have my small private pension coming in. There is part of me that thinks I want to carry on working as long as I can, and then another part that knows there are so many things I want to do and it would be nice to have all week to do them...:undecidedDMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Reading all this talk about pensions makes me think that I need to seriously up my pension game! Although i still have 29 years until retirement if i retire at 60 so there's plenty time for growth.
The projections mean nothing to me at this point because things will change financially over the next 30 years (for the better I hope!).Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Good day at work today, although there are things going on at the moment that I am not too happy about and not sure how things are going to pan out over the next few months. Can't say more at the moment, so just have to wait and see....only time will tell.
Another £5 over payment on the mortgage today...:T I get upset now when I can't find any odd money to pay extra....:rotfl:
We have sent a letter off to M**rcr*ft with an F&F offer. Fingers crossed they accept.
There is a lovely sunset in the distance from my window. Think maybe spring is on the way, was really warm when I came out of work.Read an article on FB just now, that said if we show more gratitude for the little things in life, we will feel better and be less depressed etc. I have read articles like that in the past, and it is very true. So I am going to try and find at least one thing every day to be grateful for...today it is the sun. Although TBH, the thing I am always most grateful for, is waking up every morning. I read somewhere that we should never moan about getting old, as it is a privilege denied to many.
Well time to get some tea now. OH is on a late shift tonight, so I have bought myself a lovely piece of salmon again....I will look like a fish soon, the amount I am eating.
Have a good evening everyone.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Hope everybody had a good weekend.
Was lovely and sunny here. Think the nice weather has inspired OH and he finally finished the extra shelf he has been going to put in the airing cupboard for ages....years actually....:rotfl: Then we nipped to DIY shop and he bought a new light for the back alley. I hate walking up there in the dark and we have to use it to access our garage and we also always use the back door and not the front. We had one before but it broke, so hopefully this is a better one.
I started on some more cupboard clearing and manged to clear out and tidy a large corner cupoboard under the sink. Its one of those that you shove things in the back and they are lost forever and you never remember what is in there. Found 3 half used bottles of oven cleaner, 2 half used bottles of carpet shampoo and an assortment of other stuff I no longer need. Now I can even fit the 4 x 5L containers of white vinegar in there, that I have just bought for cleaning and making weed killer....(don't like using chemicals). Hoping to sort quite a few more out this week as well.
Well on the financial front, not much happening. Imagine it will be a while before we get a reply from M**rc*ft.
Once I know all our new bills for the new financial year....water rates already emailed to say their is an increase there, so just waiting for council tax to arrive, I will then re-do my I & E budget spreadsheet and see if we need to alter any of the amount going into my F&F saving pot, or not.
On the health front, I am feeling much better.:T After the GP put me on the tablets for reflux, I wasn't happy at all (hate taking drugs if I can avoid it). Although the actual acid seemed to improve, other areas of my digestive system seemed worse. Its always hard to tell as I have suffered with IBS for years. Anyway, the course of acid tablets are now finished and I have been reading great things about Probiotics, so decided to give them a go. Only been taking them for 3 days, but so far so good....although I know it does say you need a month or so before you will feel the real benefit. Apparently they are good for immune system as well as helping your gut. I had been trying to cut out gluten as much as I could as well, as I am sure that makes me worse. So I am making an even bigger effort to avoid it now as well as trying not to eat chocolate....my big downfall, especially as I know dairy makes my IBS worse. I just need to eat better to put the weight back on that I have lost through being ill this year. Lost over half a stone between the chest infection and the tummy big, and that's not good as I was thin to start with. Hoping I can get a lot more fit now.
Second lot of washing just about done today and plans for the rest of the day are....
Post nieces birthday card
Collect bag of potatoes, ordered from village greengrocer
Clean bedroom and hoover stairs and landing
Clean bathroom
Sort another cupboard
GS's coming after school
Have a good day everybody.:)DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Well yesterday seemed to run away with me and I didn't quite get all the cleaning done
....mainly because I started doing other things that I hadn't planned for. So today....
Finish the hoovering I didn't do yesterday
Clean the bathroom
Sort another cupboard and drawer
Tidy a couple of bits in the garden
Hairdressers at 2.45
Today is not a work day, so should have plenty of time. OH going swimming after work, so won't be home till about 7.30
Didn't sleep very well last night, think that is 'cause we went to bed too late and I made the fatal mistake of looking at my tablet just before I got in bed....My rule is always no screens for at least an hour before bed, so not really sure why I did it! So early night tonight I think as I was sleeping so much better lately and don't want to spoil it now. Apart from my lack of sleep, I am still feeling so much better, so convinced the Probiotics are helping....also the sunshine, which according to my weather app, is about to change next week....:(

Sounds like you've had a really productive weekend
The nice weather makes such a difference! It's a shame it looks like it's ending
I'm glad you are feeling better. I've heard a lot of good things about probiotics as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well M**rcr*ft's reply to the F&F was to write and ask us to send an up to date I&E so they can make sure we can afford our monthly repayments:rotfl: ...and to ring them to discuss an easier way to repay! What is the matter with these people?...firstly we have stated several times that we will not engage in phone conversations with them and secondly, we have made them an offer stating that the money is coming from a relative. It should be a simple case of yes they accept or no they don't...why do they have to make everything so difficult?!
Off to work today and its noticeably a lot colder here this morning, still at least we haven't got the rain yet that is forecast.
Best get on as I need to clean the kitchen floor before I go.
Have a good day everyone...:)DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
