Brexit is just a complete shambles isn't it, regardless of which way anyone voted!
I hope you are feeling a bit better soon. Best to get checked out if it doesn't improve."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well, had GS's for a bit on Saturday and it turned out one had a runny nose and another had a cough....:mad:I really need to speak to DD again as after I was really poorly at beginning of year, I told her I wouldn't have them if they were poorly. She should have told me before they turned up, as by this time her and DSIL had already bought tickets to go to cinema. Anyway, I now have a sore throat and runny nose and hoping it doesn't come to anything more. She really needs to understand that what is only a little thing to them, often turns into a big thing for me as I seem to have a very low immune system.
Today, however, brought good news on the financial front as we had 3 letters from BC. Our accounts with them are now owned by L*NK. Basically they are refunding us a total of £576 :T:T:T:Tover the 3 accounts as they didn't support us properly when we first told them we were having problems and they kept adding interest and default fees. So they have told L*NK to reduce our total owed! So I have updated my signature with our total debt owed and at long last I can say we have paid 26% of the total we originally owed. It seemed to be stuck on 25% for soooo long.
Just off to tidy up in the kitchen and then 2 x GS's coming after school for 45 mins. Hopefully the one has stopped coughing at last. The little one with the runny nose is at childminder so at least I can keep away from those germs. I sometimes think DD is oblivious to the fact that they get coughs and colds.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Oh dear, that's not fair of your DD. regardless of how she feels about it, she should respect your wishes.
I hope your symptoms come to nothing and you are on the mend. It is the season for illness, I'm surrounded by it, but you should be able to keep yourself away from germs not invite them into your home!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Congrats on the BC refunds, that's great news :T :T
I think your DD is out of order. As coughs and colds are so prevalent, people think they are not an issue. And they are not with most people. But if you have a lowered immune system, or even if you've just had a stream of illness, you don't want to be exposed if you can help it. People should give you the choice if they or their kids are suffering with them."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Yay, another £5 overpayment off the mortgage. :T
Good day today. I have dedicated Wednesday as My Day from now on...It's one of the days I don't work so have decided that no housework will take place either, I have other days I am off work to do housework ,so on a Wednesday I will do whatever I want. So this morning I went out to buy some much needed new underwear and been catching up on a lot of admin stuff online. Now going out into the garden as its lovely and sunny:) and cut back a few bits as tomorrow is recycling day and I want to throw some bits in the brown garden waste bin. Really pleased with my efforts to become as zero waste as possible. Although OH thinks I am getting obsessed with recycling....poor man gets told off if he throws anything in the normal bin....:rotfl: Next Wednesday I am meeting a friend for coffee.
Daughter texted earlier to say I don't need to have GS's after school tonight as she is finishing early. so I have more time.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine:)DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Well what has happened in the last few days...?.....PR* responded and said said they won't accept my offers and the lowest they would go is to offer me a 80% settlement.....so they can wait and we will use our money elsewhere in that case. They'll soon realise the error of their ways when they realise we are never getting it paid....:rotfl:
OH had an optician appointment and has to now have varifocals , which we thought he would. I have worn them for years so know how expensive they are. As he spends all day on computer screens and also a lot of his leisure time as well, he needed the top lenses. Also his near sight had deteriorated a lot. So.....£600 later..... Paid £200 deposit and will pay the rest when they arrive and we are ready to pick them up. The money is there, in various other savings pots, just need to juggle a bit. I do actually have a savings pot entitled Eyes/Teeth and Prescriptions, and we pay into it weekly. Due to me having a lot of dental treatment last year though, there was not enough in there. So will jiggle around the savings and do what we have to do. He did argue that he would go with a cheaper lens, but I insisted that eyes are important and he should get the best. In the scheme of things its not very much as his last glasses lasted him 2 1/2 years, so its good value really.
Another £5 overpayment on the mortgage today.:T
Been watching House of commons again today...its like Groundhog Day :rotfl: Same things being said time after time. Just get on with it and get us out! Even No Deal won't be as bad as people think, IMHO.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Well done on the overpayments. Ouch to the glasses but at least you've got the money there.
Annoying about the F&F. Hopefully they'll come to their senses soon!
It's just getting depressing now. We must be the laughing stock of the world. I voted remain, but I think we should just leave with no deal and start negotiating again. Either that or they should put the vote back to the public again. It's a complete farce."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Been busy the last few days and not got round to any updates.
Things are good here in financial land....finally had a reply from W*sc*t...they declined my 20% offer, but said their client...Ll**ds are happy to settle at 30%.:T Whilst that is brilliant and we will accept if we can't get any lower, I have emailed them back and asked if we could settle in the middle at 25%...if you don't ask, you don't get...:rotfl: I will let you know the outcome. This is on a debt that is currently £1637, so a really good saving even if we have to go with the 30% settlement. This gives me hope as well, as we have another one with them, that is a lot bigger...over £5k and I am hoping we can maybe save a bit and agree a deal there as well. The other 3 that used to be managed by them, have now been sold on to C*b*t and they don't want to agree any deals at the moment, so will be getting their £1 a month until they see sense...lol.
House Ins is up for renewal in a few days, so I did a quick search and found something £16 cheaper. So rang the existing insurer, and they are happy to drop the price to match it, in order to keep us. :T That is the first time for years that we have had that, we normally end up changing as nobody seems to keep their customers loyal by giving a discount. So gold star for Admiral! Also I have been saving and managed to have enough to pay in 1 lump sum, so saving us another £30+ in instalment fees.
So feeling quite proud of myself at the moment. Just need to get the EF back up a bit more now and bit more in the F&F and we will be in an even better position.
Apart from that, not much to report, still feeling great with taking the probiotics and life is good...never mind the fact that we still have massive DMP debts to pay.....:rotfl:
Hope everyone else is doing ok.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Woo hoo, well done on the F+F!!!!! it will be fab if they accept the 25% wouldn't it, but 30% is good too
