  • Well...just a quick update. With the F&F's starting to kick in we have now gone to 27% paid as of today!:T the next 6 months should see it going down quite a bit. Not sure how it will progress after that, as will need a few more offers accepted. But feel we are moving in the right direction at last. Which considering we have only been on DMP for 4 years, is a good sign. I am sure it isn't going to take anywhere near as long as we originally thought.
Also another £5 paid off the Mortgage overpayment.

Have a good weekend every body. :)

    That's amazing, well done :T

  • Been so busy lately and not had time to write much. So quick update...currently paying 2 F&F's, both over 6 month installments and Cabot have already said that once I have completed 1 in October, they will happily agree another for my second debt with them. :) So by end Oct, we will have cleared just over £6k of debt, but only actually paid £1728! :rotfl::T:) So F&F's DO work if you hold out for them and play the waiting game.

So today is a day off and I have lots to do. So best crack on with some housework...even though I said Wednesdays was going to me MY day and no housework would take place. We were away last week for a few days and then I was busy at weekend and Monday and at work yesterday. So now need to catch up as got work tomorrow and Friday as well. Still only got 5 more Fridays to work then will be getting an extra day off..Bad from the money point of view, but great from the health and relaxation side and having more ME time etc. Will have to try and cut down a bit as will be losing £240 a month...:( Hey ho, such is life. Another 4 years and I will get my state pension, so will be a lot better off then!

Have a good day everyone. :)

That is an amazing result with the F&Fs :T :T :T

  • Happy Bank Holiday everyone:)

OH is at work today until 3, so just catching up before I have a massive tidy up after having GS's for the weekend....lovely time had by all, but I am worn out now....

Well bit of good news on the job front.... the job I thought I was losing at end of June, will now be safe until August. So a few more weeks of £££. :T I must admit I am still looking forward to having the extra day off every week as there is so much I want to do.
So not much more news to report really. Ebay sales have slowed down. We listed a load of things a few weeks ago and sold a few, but the others have just stuck there even when we reduced the prices. Never mind, I am sure they will go soon.

    So plans for the day...
Put all the bedding away and vaccum duvet back into one of those awful bags...it keeps coming undone so suspect there may be a hole...:rotfl:
    Clean bedroom and hoover through
    Wash kitchen floor
Sit at computer and work out finances for the next few months..E.G what to put into savings accounts etc, how much we have left each month etc now we are paying the F&F's.

    Have a good day everyone:)

Thanks Jwil. It feels really good knowing we are getting through the debts at last and making some really big dents in it.

  • Seem to have not had enough time to spend online lately...sometimes it seems as though internet takes over from real life. So just a quick update before I catch up on other peoples threads later.

F&F's are going well and we are half way through the 6 months we have been given to pay them. Today our total we have paid on our DMP so far went up to 28%...love it when we get another %..:).
So far this year we have paid extra £100 off the mortgage as well. Not as much as I would have liked, but every little helps.
Well Friday is my last day in one of my part time jobs. Will certainly miss the money, even though its only about £260 a month. Will be nice having more free time though, as there are so many things I want to do. A very small part time job has been advertised locally and I am thinking of applying, but after all these years, I no longer have a CV available to send as I never thought that at 62 years old I would be applying for anything else. I might spend a bit of time and give it a go though as its only 4 hours a week, but looks like the sort of thing that would interest me and I think it would fit in with my other job. I will keep you posted.
Other than that there is not much to report. My big thing at the moment is saving the planet and trying to go as plastic free as possible. So far we are really making big improvements. Just wish everybody felt the same.

Hope everybody else is doing ok. Will try and update more often now.

Well done on the payments :T Good luck with the job application. Hope your last day goes ok today.

We've been saving our bread bags, crisp packets, chocolate wrappers and some cleaning stuff for Terracycle. It is incredibly scary how much we've got  One benefit of separating stuff for recycling is that it brings it home how much waste we produce. It's the same with food waste, once it's separated from the general bin, people make the effort to reduce it.

I've also switched from shower gel to soap. I don't notice the difference at all. It will save me loads of money too :D
