Your dementia job sounds really fulfilling. Definitely don't risk your health for the other job if they aren't particularly valuing you.

Glad the overpayment tip helped :)

:rotfl: Yes my OH will go off stuff if we have it too often....unless its something he really loves, like junk food.....:rotfl: If we go out for a meal I always try and pick fish from the menu.

OMG he is his twin!!!! he goes off stuff all the time unless its Subway, McDonalds or Burger King, he could eat those all the time xx

  • Well, back from our little holiday. It was glorious weather and great hotel. Lots of walking and chilling. :)
Got back at airport on Saturday night and driving along the M6 and a Royal Mail lorry decides to try and undertake us in a section of narrow lanes where the roadworks are and a 50mph limit. He hit the side of our car and just drove off! Reported it to police as we got his number and they advised ringing RM, which we did and they are going to sort the damage for us....so not the best start to being home.
Then yesterday evening I started to feel a bit shivery and headache and then work up in the night with tummy upset, which is still going on, so feeling very yuk! Shivery, achy muscles and joints and so tired. I thought the holiday was to sort everything out and get away from all these illnesses...just really fed up with feeling bad. Hoping this is just a 24 hour thing.

On the financial front, we had letters from PR*, who have already admitted that our 3 debts with them are UE as they have been searching for paperwork for over a year and they put the account on hold. So the letters said that yes they were still UE, but they offered us an F&F...of approx. 85%! Don't think so thanks. We will carry on not paying those ones and wait till they are happy to accept a lot lower.
M**cr*ft have been trying to ring OH and then texted him to advise they were trying to contact him. Don't say what about, so we are writing to them to advise that we have already told them all communication is to be in writing only.

so now onward and upward with feeling 100% better and sorting out some more debts and overpaying the mortgage a little bit more.

    Hope everybody is ok. :)

Thanks, yes I am recovered from the bug now, just seems to have left me feeling a bit tired and drained....although that could just be the feeling of being home and its so much colder here than we had in Spain:rotfl:....got up to 22c a couple of days:)

I know, I was sure he would stop and he just drove on. When OH rang them though, they didn't seem surprised, so I imagine it happens often...which is really bad.

  • :TWell not much to report at the moment, other than I have just paid another £5 overpayment on the mortgage. It does make me feel good when I do this. Going to go on the calculator thing and work out how much I can bring it down by if I keep paying little bits.
OH got his work private pension annual review today.. When I added it to state pensions and my private pension, I think we will actually be better off when we are both retired than we are now....lol. We will have paid the mortgage and also the DMP by then...(hopefully, if they accept our F&F's, otherwise it will take forever).
Got an F&F letter to write over the weekend to M**cr*ft, and to tell them not to keep trying to ring OH. We only owe them about £500 so hoping they will accept a nice low offer.

So nice to wee the weather improving. Hoping to start a lot more spring cleaning, sorting out and decorating soon.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

It's crazy isn't it lol, we are due our wages x 2 total, and then like £12k a year in state pension, plus pretty decent lump sums when we retire, so I am looking forward to a nice retirement lol xx
