It's getting really silly now. Another resort fee increase.

I think next time we go, I'm going to try and persuade Mr Dontone to stay somewhere off the Strip. We always get a car, so I can't see it being a problem.
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j
  • Got my next Vegas trip in December as hubby is attending the Amazon conference out there. Can't wait, especially as it means a free Wynn hotel room for me, and I also managed to bag premium economy flights in the Virgin sale for £650 (could have got upper class for £1200 but couldn't justify it, especially seeing as my last Vegas trip gave me quite a financial beating. Let's just say the slots didn't smile on me).

The resort fees are becoming a joke, but I am pleased that Total Rewards are doing their tier match offer again. I'm going to get my Gold Mlife matched to become a Diamond Total Rewards card which gives no resort fees (too late for this trip, but hopefully next time), free parking, and I've also heard free show tickets.

I'm annoyed my Cosmo tier has slipped this year, as the free parking and 2for1 buffet was very useful. Still, it's not hard to get it up again so I'll go and lose some money there...

    hi
Stuie i can feel your pain !
My brother is a fan of slots..i like them too but im more of a $1 a shot kinda guy and my brother is sorta like you and plays $3 plus. When we first went to vegas in 2014 whilst we were checking in he said ok be back in a minute.... he comes back a few minutes later and says just lost $300
the worst thing to think bout is someone prob put a buck into the machine and won $500 lol

On another side note( again!) and being very UN MSE. has anyone done BA business class from london?
Im looking to go solo and it looks like i can get return flights to vegas business class...edi-lon-vegas...vegas-lon-edi for around £1700.. and usuing Mlife offers it seems i can get my hotel mgm for around $275 plus like $75 free play $100 resort credit.
    any advice?
    thanks in advance
We only ever fly BA Club, well most of the time anyway. Usually from Dublin which can knock the price down by half.
The BA flight leaves from T3 so you have the choice of 4 lounges to choose from. In order of loveliness, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American and finally BA Galleries. Don't even bother with that one, its always full because no one knows you can use any of the other 3.
Club is lie flat beds, some seats face forwards and some backwards. Upper deck is the preference because there are only 14 suites up there and it feels really private. The big bug about the seating is that if you are sitting by a window you have to step over someones legs to get out if they are sleeping, and if in the isle you have a person stepping over your legs.
On return you are T3 LAS, the lounge there is the Club at LAS, about a 2 minute walk from the gate
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

TV ? u mean from last year ? (Hisense TV) ?

Slots = last year and year before, playing on the likes of Wonka / buffalo / the chinese $8.88 slots (max bet, so $6 - $8.88 ) , i was getting good wins, with ratio's like 15/1 upto 400/1 (Flying Horse - $2.50 bet = $850 payout on the bonus feature) .....
earlier this year, biggest win on a slot was peanuts, despite pumping in loads...

    Same again last week...
    Wonka = $160 coin in, $6 spin, with $13 remaining, i got the umpa's .....
Gave me $35.......... Raging is an understatement!

    Tree of wealth at $8.88 , i used my $325 freeplay + $215 of my own money... Won the mini jackpot 2 times ($34 + $19 )..
Got the bonus feature, pressed for 5 spins with biggest win combo, the payout was $168 .....

Many other machines on the big strip hotels = same.......

ie: playing max bet yielded the lowest RTP (return to player) ....

Ironically, i play the Quick Hits slot, pressed $1 spin and it dished out $75 ! (75/1 odds!) ....
That's why I never play slots, only craps and preferably B/J.

I like to have a fighting chance with a game I can somewhat have an input the outcome.

Stuie....you must have been playing the wrong slots;)

We have been here since Sunday lunch time, and so far, the gambling side of things hasn’t cost us a penny.
We are not massive gamblers, and only play slots, but we do play for a few hours each day.
Had a few wins in the hundreds...which is good for us...so no complaints about the machines from us, well not yet anyway...plenty of time for it to go horribly wrong in the next few days.:rotfl:

Been in October a few times and weather in evening feels a little cooler than we have previously experienced.Mrs Brats actually put a little jacket on last night while out on Fremont Street.

    How does this work??
Just looking at prices for next trip and if I start from Dublin and fly via Heathrow its £450 is but if I catch the same flight but starting at Heathrow instead its nearly £800?
I have never caught a connecting flight before, what happens at the stopover airport? Do you stay on the plane or does the plane change?
What would happen if I "missed" my original flight from Dublin, could i just catch up with the plane at Heathrow?
This obviously has nothing to do with me living about 20 minutes from Heathrow :)

    Ha, you change planes :rotfl:

If you miss the Dublin flight its tough luck, however if you book a through ticket with BA (as an example) and the Dublin one is delayed to the extent you miss the connection, they put you on the next Vegas flight in Heathrow FOC
  • It's two different flights.
If you "miss" your Dublin flight you will be a now show, so no, you can't board in LHR.
To me the savings in club make it well worth while flying to Dublin from ABZ then on to LHR.
Of course coming back maybe you will "miss" your flight to Dublin, but only do this if hbo or flying to Dub from LCY or LGW.

What would happen if I "missed" my original flight from Dublin,
If you were a no show in Dublin, the remainder of the ticket would be cancelled.
