Yep, agree with Nosferatu, also agree with not having seen or read of the requirement for witness statements to comply....... Maybe they are trying to stop the tendency to include the defence again in the WS or to stop claimants copy and paste War & Peace into a WS.

The Statement of Truth shown in the above is now out of date. Google 'Statement of Truth' for the latest (longer and more pointed) version that you and the Claimant will need to add to your respective WS.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It looks as though the WS could be as normal, but the DJ seeks to avoid statements that include wording like "our operative ticketed the vehicle because no permit was displayed" (for example) because that is best addressed in a separate statement for which there is a specific direction.

If they're suing you, how hard can it be to get a proper statement (in addition to the usual one) from the individual as to what s/he did. Not something that will easily sit with "self ticketing" sites mind.

Might encourage the Norris Coles to stop curtain twitching if they have to put their name and signature to a Statement of Truth in their own (hopefully now to be required) WS.

Mind you, they might now be otherwise engaged dobbing in their neighbours for not observing social distancing!

The last seems new to me - a very very pointed remark that a witness statement must be a REAL witness statement.

It's really good that this Judge is ordering sequential service of evidence bundles.  i.e. you get to see theirs first!  Which Judge and court is it, we may have heard of them?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
