Thanks everyone for popping in.
I didn't get the job, took them a week to tell me. I asked for feedback, all positive and nothing I could improve on...…………….so not really sure why I didn't get the job.
Anyway, onwards and upwards.
I have been doing some admin on a voluntary basis for a committee in the village, the staff member they employ is on long term sick and they have now served her with notice as she won't ever be fit to return to work so they will be advertising her job soon.
Obviously I will be applying, I have been helping them out since September and have also been on some courses as the job is quite specialised so I hope I get it. Its only 4 hours per week at about £10ph so that would be a great help.
Selling to Music Magpie has continued but any money that has been received has been spent on bills, groceries and petrol.
My income doesn't cover all the outgoings I want it to - will post up my financial statement today.
I'm still skint this month as paid on 21st and then the wages start being spent before the new month starts, I really need to get a grip on things (which I keep saying!!), this month will be hard as not paid until 29th so its a 5 week month.
Maybe April will be a better month as I will be able to split my wages into bills and then petrol/groceries/miscellanous and I will then have to live on what I've got.
I really need to get on top of my debts/still need a carpet and need to pay money for divorce so I really need to get a grip.0 -
Have also put this in post 2 -
Although it doesn't look to bad I have not included anything for Xmas/Car Insurance/Truck Insurance/Car & Truck Repairs/Dentist/Glasses/Birthdays etc
I usually buy Birthday from my current account as and when needed. Last years car and truck insurance went on the credit card.

Your mobile phone bill seems high, are you tied in to a contract?
Could you stop doing the lottery and stop buying newspapers? I read the news online and never really feel the need to buy a newspaper.
I'm sorry if this is a silly question as I may not know your circumstances, but do you need a truck and a car?

Hang in there EE - we can do this. I don't have any practical advice, other than asking about child benefit/tax credits...

Are the lottery and papers really a necessity? I used to have a Times subscription and paid £12 a month for 7 days of papers. I cancelled because I never had time to read the papers, it was a fab deal though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Thanks for comments everyone.
I've been thinking for a while now about the newspapers, I barely get time to read them and have piles in my bedroom that I feel I have to read before I can throw them away - sounds mad I know!!!
A few weeks ago I started reading the paper properly every day and then recycling it but life is so busy that last week I didnt get a chance to do much except glance at each days paper so I've now got a minature pile in the kitchen.....
I think I need to bite the bullet and cancel them, I do check BBc news every day but too be honest I don't have the time to really sit down and read any kind of news. On the one hand I think that I should make time for myself and on the other I realise thats not going to happen.
The lottery is harder as I have been doing the same numbers since the start, £38 is the highest it ever is, sometimes it is lower, depends how many draws are on it that month. I'm not sure I can cancel it....
The truck is for my smallholding and is needed to cart water up to the field, I have a big tank on the back which I fill with water at home and take up to the field, this is only once a week and so the truck does about 5 miles a week. It is also used to take animals to slaughter but that is only a few times a year. I put about £40 of petrol in every 4 - 5 months so apart from the tax and insurance doesnt cost much and I have it down as a business expense for my self-employment.
The car I use for general running around and to get to and from work.
I do get Child Benefit for DD but this is given to her every 4 weeks for her spending, prioir to her having her CB to spend she would cost me a fortune every month for clothes/trainers/cinema trips as she has expensive tastes. She gets her CB plus £50 each from me and the ex - she has to buy all her clothes from this (except school clothes) plus all her outings etc. Its definitely made her more mindful of spending.
I don't get Tax Credits, we are in a Universal Credit area and so I would need to claim that but it wouldnt be much each month and with hopefully starting this new job I wouldnt be entitled.
The phone cost is for 2 contracts, mine and my son's - mine is £22pm and his is £18pm. He's at Uni so it's the least I can do as he doesnt ask me for money ever. I am 1 year in to my contract and he is nearly 2 years in and then his cost will reduce as the actual phone part will be paid off and I doubt he will want an upgrade.
Lots to think about still.....0 -
I know where you’re coming from re the lottery. I play the numbers my dad played when he was alive. Next month he will be dead 21 years but I’m afraid to stop.
