Brilliant news about your dog. (((hugs))) to both of you.:A

You must be thrilled about the 'back pay' from the job, and it proves how much they appreciate what you've done for them. Hopefully this is the start of good things happening for you.

STBEXH sounds like a total twit ... so glad you don't have to put up with him any more.

STBEXH meanwhile has managed to buy loads of new things for his house and for himself....had his car fixed but cannot afford to pay the bill and bounced loads of direct debits last month
I really do hope that this is ENTIRELY his problem - you have managed to get out of any joint accounts, haven't you?

It is entirely his problem, we have not had a joint bank account since 2007.

When he told me something had gone wrong as he was £280 short for his bills I told him to double check his budget against the things he had paid out for.
I did not mention all his spending that may have contributed to the issue!!!

Great news about the dog EE
My divorce costs also continue to ramp up but the extra money will certainly help you - my exam stuff definitely helps me. I keep telling myself that these couple of years will be a small thing in the future - it just feels non ending at the moment.

That's wonderful news about your dog EE! You must be over the moon!:j
Congratulations on the job as well! It will all help with the ongoing costs. The divorce bills must feel like they're going on and on, but hopefully they will be done and dusted soon and you can really get your new budget going.

It's like deja vu with the STBEX isn't it? As the others have posted, at least his money problems aren't yours any more!

    Have a good weekend!

So its the 1st June and my new plan is due to start...……………..

I have received the backpay from my new job and from Monday I will start receiving £140pm wages - I have arranged for this to go into a bank account I haven't touched for ages, the plan is to let this build up and it will cover my yearly bills eventually...I am going to put my car/truck insurance on monthly DD this year (last year I paid in full on the credit card which is still sitting there) and then let this account build up and hopefully I will be able to fund birthdays, xmas, my small weekend away, my eventual car/truck replacement from this as well as start paying my debts back.

I have just sorted the bank accounts out so petrol money has been transferred to another unused current account, food money in to another, bills will all come out of another and the card for that will stay hidden at home.

I need to be strong and when the money has gone, its gone instead of adding it to my credit card or borrowing from other accounts.

Only fly in the ointment this month is DD needs to get her prom dress, I'm hoping we can hire one as it will never be used again. I doubt STBEXH is going to contribute, I'm not even going to ask him and just see if he offers. I just dont need the stress of the refusal and would rather fund it myself.

I havent done surveys or anything like that for ages, I just dont seem to have the time although this month I have been ill for a few weeks...even took 1 week off work, I'm never ill so this has been a shock and I've bene going to bed early most nights as I've been exhausted.
Need to try and get back in to the swing of them as they were handy source of vouchers and cash.

Oh you are doing so well, and congratulations on being strong with the new influx of money.

Regarding Prom dresses - so pricey even to hire - have you looked on eBay or Facebook selling pages. Best friend's daughter got a beauty for £40 on FB marketplace - wore it, looked fabulous, drycleaned and sold on eBay the weekend after for £120.
