This should really be a blog and not on open forums.
If a question is asked or a comment is made that is not in agreement with the majority then either the post is removed or the poster is asked how dare they ask or question. Forums are meant for discussion but this thread is only allowed to have one view point.

I was intrigued with a previous post stating they found so much info so quickly. So I tried.

It's true. Just from your blog name, I found your FB page, your personal FB page, your children's FB pages, including names and photos of all the children AND grand-children. It took me 2 minutes.

It would help if your full name wasn't on your business FB page. And to warn your "kids" that there is such a thing as a private profile on FB. They all seem to be public.

Oh, and DS should unfriend his ex.

And if MSE had allowed me to change my Name on here when I tried then it would have been a lot harder.
Now that you and the other poster have done this, then curiosity means many more will now, who would never have thought to research me.
It is now rather more of a problem than it was.

My posts were never intended to be a risk to my family. Caring for my family is extremely important to me. I admit I don't understand technology and I too ended up trying to find information about me on line, although I seem to have come up with someone else's information on my family on their family tree. I also found very incorrect information too.
Unfortunately most businesses will say who owns them, and that's where people prefer to deal with a business when the owners etc are identifiable.

    I don't remove posts?
I don't say who can or can't follow my story, so complaining that I don't allow other opinions is not down to me.

Although now I am more concerned about my journey here being used in discriminately. Where I had not before.

    Washing Day!
Dgd has a suitcase full of muddy things etc from her trip.
I have just finished a load of children's clothes DS had in the car.
So I need to get them dry asap.
I am not at work today. Staff are covering.
I also need to menu plan for the week ahead to make sure that they have enough food at home while I am away.
Oh I need to pack too, and get my Business head back on by Monday.
I still feel unwell, but after the fever broke in the early hours I feel better.

The problem is that your Facebook is set to a public setting. It’s easy enough to change that. All your posts should go private on your personal account. Your kids as well. It’s also possible to hide your friends list.

I speak as someone who had their full name tweeted by someone who only had it because I paid for a fare to a political march. I was then googled and found as the job I used to do meant I had to advertise what I did online. I was then reported to the dwp for benefit fraud I wasn’t committing. And worse. I’ve had to involve police several times.

This is sensible advice. Yes you have to have a public business page but get everything else locked down and set to private.

You can change your name on here. One other woman did it. I’ve had ten months of trouble offline from a group of people I don’t know because someone put my full name out in the public domain. Someone who is going through what you are just now really should heed advice about making your personal social media more private.

annandale this is good advice. For different reasons my facebook page has always been friends only and I did other things to make it harder for certain people to find me which I won't reveal here. Any search I do in my real name comes up with americans so I'm happy with that.

I have changed my Facebook etc as much as I can today. I wasn't refusing to change things. I am just not very technical minded.
    Hopefully it is reduced now.

It's been a lovely sunny day here so like you I've been powering through the laundry loads. I hope you're feeling better today , there seem to be a lot of viruses and bugs doing the rounds and it's a bad year so far for those with hayfever Dd and I have been clutching hankies as we've been out and about with streaming eyes , runny noses and thumping headaches . Not a pretty sight.

    Washing line is full.
Still several loads to do though.
Had lunch, baby has been asleep for two hours, he's just woken up.
My friend called round for half an hour, stopping me from going stir crazy with children's tv.
Out of the habit of Mr Tumble etc!
I am feeling much better than I was last night. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be back to normal.

    I still haven't packed yet.
I have seen Mr Tumble and Go Jetters!
Pushed children on the swings, rescued baby from his brother on the slide.
Played peekaboo and raced cars on the floor.
I have done pasta bolognese and for once they both ate a decent amount. It's the first time that the eldest has not thrown a tantrum at what meal I gave him.
I never did get food shopping done as DS has been given some extra hours today, and as he only had 4 I told him to accept the work.
The washing machine must feel like it's doing overtime, and there is still one more load to do when the current one finishes.
