Slightly off topic. I just wondered where you lovely lot shop and which supermarket you would rate on being competitive on price and good for sw foods? X
I tend to shop in Lidl for my main shop, but where I work in the town centre, there's a small Heron (part of B&M group) that does lots of frozen bits, and I can get basics there too. I like that they stock brands on short dates that might otherwise be too expensive for me, but on silly prices like 3 for £1, etc.
I shop in Aldi too FE. It's great for all the basics for cooking from scratch. If you want low syn ready meals then you'll have to shop around. Obviously Iceland for the SW stuff but I found some low syn meals in M&S yesterday for sary. Wherever you shop planning is key.
I got my bits from the small M&S foodhall we have all on yellow stickers too :money: I also picked up bits for the family in there like family sized minced beef pies reduced to £1 each, so in the freezer they went! Their bananas are often nicer quality than Lidl & Sainsburys too.
Well I just about survived our trip to Cambridge and eating out 3 times whilst there!!
This is how my meal plan went:
B - 2 x apricots
snack - banana (this was part of my plan to defer any breakfast until we met up for coffee late morning, so while they ate pastries, I had my secret weapon banana tucked in my handbag to have with my coffee)
L - bacon roll (HEB), ketchup (1) I spotted one of my sisters quizically looking at me while I disected the bacon taking off any fat - thankfully it was nicely lean
D - everywhere was packed full, and we couldn't book a table at any restaurant, so ened up in a pub. I chose to have sausages and mash with peas, rather than the fried fare otherwise on offer. I'm guessing at about 20 syns all in for the meal, to be on the safe side! Fortunately the sausages seemed non-greasy, unlike those you can get, and the mash didn't taste very creamy - ordinarily I'd have been a bit miffed, but was grateful for it being so.
Without having any control over where we ate, and then having very few options, that was about the best of a bad job! My sisters all chose cakes, scones, burgers and chips. Doesn't seem fair that they're all much skinnier than me!! We wandered around the shops and they were looking at lovely clothes, but I just couldn't engage with it, knowing I would look shocking in most of what they were looking at, or they didn't go above a size 14/16. It did make me keep my resolve though to stay on track, so not a bad lesson.
I hope you're all keeping warm this chilly SundayOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Well done tweets :T
Menu plan today:
B - banana
L - porridge HEB with water & splash of milk from HEA.
snack - 0% greek natural yog. frozen mixed berries (but I'm not great with cold stuff, so had to leave it all for 2 hrs at room temp until I could eat it!)
D - M&S slow cooked peppered beef, with SW roasties, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli & carrots & 2 syns for a bit of gravy baby
Hoping that low syn plan puts a bit of damage limitation on yesterday. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
