Crikey! I never win anything now I am SOTW!! :T:T

I am determined to get my stone award next week.

Has anybody tried beetroot raita? Its just fat free plain yoghurt with diced fresh beetroot and some chopped up fresh mint. Hubby and I had some for lunch with ham, cous cous, tomatoes and left over Goan Masala Tortilla. Both recipes from the new SW Free Food on thr Go book.

Hope everyone has a good week.
  • WI tonight guys, Lost 2 1/2 and my wife 1 1/2. Going good and steady now.

  • Another beautiful day here. Dog walking is on the cards as well as a trip to the supermarket.
    My plan today is:-
    He a bob milk
    He b 40g oats
B overnight oats with frozen cherries and almond extract in the yogurt
L SW Spanish ommlette and salad
D chicken in mustard sauce with new pots and green beans
    Syns/snacks pear, blueberries

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Hi everyone, hope you're all well! Not been around for a while, been v busy what with crashing the car and an interview and a weekend away.

My good news is that I've finally been offered a job! The bad news is they want me to start on Monday - I was hoping for a month of R&R, normally HR take ages to sort anything out don't they? Never mind.

Chris please can you add a 1/2lb loss to the chart for me for last week (Sat 23rd). Hoping to capitalise on that this week. I desperately need to do a Big Shop but still carless so going to walk to the supermarket and get a taxi home I think. People suggested ordering online but I just don't trust them to send the right things :o

Hope everyone is doing ok, haven't had chance to read back - big hugs to all!

    Afternoon all,
    Well done pennylane on SOTW.
Didn’t have a chance to get online last night as had to go out straight after work, so meal plan was this:

    B - banana
L - off plan as forgot I had a lunch date arranged with an ex colleague - she chose the venue and the least damage on offer was 2 slices of fruit loaf with butter (20?)
Snack - 0% Greek yoga with mango & strawberries
D - roast chicken, cabbage, peas, carrots, mushrooms, peppers & wild rice, gravy (2)
    HEB - missed it
    HEa - milknin tea/coffee

    Today’s plan WILL be better:

    B - banana
L - porridge HEB, splash milk from HEA, sugar (2)
0% Greek yog, mango & strawberries
    Snack - nectarine
D - chicken breast with SW chips & mixed salad, dressing (2)

May have to go out again tonight, so may not get on later

Bon voyage Denise - hope you have a fab time.

Feeling a bit depressed. Half a pound off my 1 stone award but was out shopping today and kept catching sight of myself and look bigger than I feel, if that makes sense. Didn’t try any clothes on but held some up and didn’t think they would fit.

I preordered the Pinch of Nom Cook book at Waterstones where its just £10. had a bowl of soup with no bread but it wasn’t as good as my own. All I bought was 3 pairs of pants in M and S but I did feel in the mood for buying today so felt a bit depressed.

This is the first day I have felt really hungry and hated seeing people eating nice things like pasties, burgers, sausage rolls etc. It’s been a hard day! :(

Pennylane, I can relate to what you’re saying, and I suspect many will. I had lunch the other day with colleagues and one was eating large fruit scone with cream, butter and jam (she’s a size 6!) and the other ate a melted cheese and ham panini followed by a scone and jam and cream (she’s a size 10) and I just envied them so much being able to make choices off the menu without a care in the world. Even the soup would have been a bad choice for me! However, we are doing something about it, and if I am on-plan most weeks, I can allow myself the occasional off plan meal, but I simply don’t have the luxury of making those every day. For me I am tackling a lifetime of bad meal choices, having a dysfunctional relationship with food, and using it for comfort, solace, celebration and anything in between. If I you replaced it with alcohol I’d be classed as an addict I’m sure. Can’t beat some M&S pants though ;)

Reporting -1.2lb loss this week. If it had only been 1.3 I would have been through the next stone barrier - argh!! Next week it WILL happen.

Have a good day all :)

I can understand where you're both at sary and penny but it'll pass. It's tough staying the course and getting to target but it's so worth it when you're there.:D

Thinking about those friends of yours sary with the madly off plan lunches: They can't possibly do that every day and maintain their small sizes. When you get to target (or even now) you could have treats like that provided you didn't eat like that all the time. I used to miss pasties too penny and treated myself to one every couple of months (great bakery near my hairdresser) but, in time, the craving passed and while I still like them I'm put off now by too much pastry so find I rarely bother any more.

I find that instead of wanting to eat unhealthy things I get cross with eateries that only seem to offer unhealthy food. Not only is it fuelling the obesity crisis but it's a rip off because they're putting more and more fillers (bread, batter, pastry) on menus and less fresh food to make it cheap. That's cheap for them not us!

It helps me to think of SW as a long term healthy way of eating rather than a diet. It makes me determined and smug to know I'm eating healthily and if I go off plan it's for an occasional treat that I'll really enjoy rather than just eating rubbish because that's all is on offer.

I've been at target for coming up 8 years now and those that leave (or drift in and out) of SW are often people who think of it as a diet and long for the day they can go back to eating 'normal' food. SW is normal food. It's the junk food that's not good for us. Sorry to get all preachy.:o
