D - cauliflower cheese & HM chips (rest of HEA2)
Snack - Hifi bar (0.5 HEB)
HEA1 and 2 - milk
HEB - 1 weetabix; 1 hifi bar
Syns - parmasan 2.5; not sure what else yet

Hi all, just here to have a moan really
How do you get the most stubborn bloke to go to the Dr? My cough went to him and some. Last few nights he sounds like he is drowning but all I get is “I’m ok during the day”! Makes me :mad:but also scared. Last night was so bad he got up and slept in his recliner, then drove to London so I haven’t seen him.
Just drives me nuts!
Moan over, have a good all :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

:wave:Hello All! Back from our 15 days in India. Wow! What an amazing place, we loved it.:)
As I have the washing mountain to tackle, I haven't read back but I'm sure I'll soon get back into the swing of things. Hope everyone is well.
Food consumption was mixed. I could have had curry 24/7 but thought that would be a bit OTT!:D Hotel breakfasts were fine. I stuck to my usual fresh fruit and eggs on toast most days. Dinners were mostly curry type meals with lost of veggie options because of the religions. What wasn't very SW friendly was far too much bread (including naans and poppadums) and many biscuits, muffins and crisps for snacky lunches on the move. Alcohol consumption was relatively low for a holiday with just a couple of G&Ts most evenings although the tonic was full fat.:( All my clothes still fit so I'm hoping I haven't gained too much.
DD kindly bought in milk and other breakfast bits for us so I haven't needed to shop today. I'd completely run the fridge down so other than a few potatoes I've got very little in for meals. I've cobbled together a plan for today so will try to get back to SW ASAP. We've got a large, family get together on Saturday with a hotel buffet (so hope it's not too beige) but other than that and one pub lunch I've got a clear week or so.
Tomorrow, I'll do my meal plan and shop.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with tuna and beetrootHM burger, SW chips, frozen veg, fried (frozen) onions
Syns: spread 2? I may decide to have some G&T tonight to extend my holiday mood.;)0 -
Welcome back Maman. Time has really flown by, didn't realise you were back so soon! Glad you enjoyed India. Have to say I didn't drink as much as a normal holiday whilst we were there either but again full fat tonic! and although I had nearly a week for a bit of damage limitation on return I'd only put on 1.5lb and was still just inside my target range!
I've lost that and a bit more since but am off again on Tuesday but to France this time in in the motorhome. Will have to see if I can manage to not go out of range again - have got 4lb to play with as 1lb under actual target weight.
You've come up with a good SW day for your first day back!

Well done joedenise on the STS.
I intend to invest in some xantham gum when I next go to the supermarket (that's not Lidl or Aldi). I had used a colmans spag bol mix to aid the thickening, and add a bit more flavour. Given that it makes a large slow cooker full, and about 6 portions, at only 7.5 syns for the packet, I think it isn't a bad option, but xantham gum will definitely save more for the weekly syn bank!
So another very busy day at work (I'm still covering for my boss, and then another co-worker rang in sick [again!!] so helped cover that too). I was famished by lunchtime, but hadn't had any time to eat much up until then, so meal plan was like this:
B - nectarine (I know, not enough!!)
L - porridge HEB with water and milk from HEA1, sugar (2), 0% greek yogurt with fresh mango (absolutely scrum-yum and my favourite!)
D - LO bolognese (1) with grated cheese on top as a treat HEA2, and let's say (2) for the extra bit!
I did such a huge portion of the bolognese that I couldn't eat it all. Not often I'm capable of having eyes actually bigger than my belly, hehe.
TIE I'm not sure what to say about your DH, except that in my experience the male species can be somewhat stubborn beggars, and you just have to hope that common-sense eventually prevails. I hope he's much better soon. If it is getting really bad he should maybe just have a quick check-up to make sure it's not developed into something more serious like an infection.
Thank carrot batons it's Friday tomorrow!
Almost forgot, welcome back Maman - glad to hear you'd had a lovely time. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Just a warning about Xanthum gum - it doesn't work for thickening a cheese sauce! It split when I tried it yesterday for the cauliflower cheese. Tasted OK but looked horrible.
Today's plan:
B - veg omelette
L - sausage & onion sandwich - one of my favourite fillings!
D - fish pie & veg of some sort
HEA1 - milk; HEA2 - probably won't use
HEB - bread
Syns - weekend wine:D

Morning all
Well done on the loss sary and the STS joedenise
Have stayed pretty much on plan this week - was so, so hungry on Wednesday though - no matter what I cooked and ate, I wanted what I knew I couldn't have. Doesn't help that we've not got any snacks in the house.
Heading off to the gym today for a scary sounding 'Burn it' class and again tomorrow for circuit training.
Lovely day here now that the fog has burned off...
Enjoy Friday0 -

I'd have thought that helped a great deal!:DJust a warning about Xanthum gum - it doesn't work for thickening a cheese sauce! It split when I tried it yesterday for the cauliflower cheese. Tasted OK but looked horrible.

Thanks for that denise. When I thicken gravy/sauce I've taken to adding the cornflour afterwards rather than the roux method that I used to use. I mix the cornflour with a little cold water then stir it in to the 'thin' sauce before heating through. How do you use xanthum gum? Is there any taste to the xanthum gum?
You're up early today! I stayed up until my usual time last night to try and reset my body clock but still feeling tired this morning.
I've had my SW breakfast (HEX porage) but really need to do my meal plan and shop before I sort out any more meals for today. Eggs and masses of veg are on the top of the list. The freezer is low on HM ready meals too so I need to plan in some batch cooking.
Back soon.:)0 -
I need to buy some more cornflour as have run out but didn't worry because I had the Xanthum gum but now I know I need both! There isn't any taste to it so it's good for thickening gravy.
Don't often get up that early but needed to get up for the loo so decided it wasn't worth going back to bed. DH was already up and had made a pot of tea so thought I might as well have one! It took me nearly a week to catch up time wise after returning from Goa.
My first shop was also eggs, veg & fruit as had left nothing except a carton of long life milk! Just bought enough for a day or two on the way home from the airport and then sorted out my meal plan.

Reporting in with - 1lb Was happy with that as had afternoon tea on Saturday and inadvertently oversynned on Tuesday as was at theatre, so obviously pulled it back. Nowhere near my wished for loss target for this period, but hey, at least I am still less than I was when I started!
Anyone else have really low group numbers because of half term?A smile costs little but creates much0
