  • I'm jealous of your sewing skills DNMS - I could never get into sewing but I reckon it would be fab to make my own clothes.
And you're right HK - as long as I am a cat owner I will never, ever be rich - but they are worth it.
I'm very pleased to report that I got everything done on my list today. I also managed to avoid all spends so have made a profit of £50 from tutoring, which is very much needed at the moment. However, I've barely stopped. DD's hair colour took hours and she's still not happy - however it was free so no further complaint allowed.
I was on the go from 9am until just before 7, so I haven't done much small stuff. I've finished my latest blanket and I'm quite pleased with it, found the missing cat medicine and washed dishes and done a load of washing as well. Still need to properly look through money and budgets to see if I can find a little PAD from somewhere because I need to keep that habit.

    Evening all

A fairly 'functional' day for me today..

    - did a tip run this morning. Had a random chinwag eith someone who worked there. He was probably glad to see the back of the random lady stood gasbagging to him :rotfl:
    - checked online banking, all fine
    - tree down and up in the loft. Will deal with the one in DS2s bedroom tomorrow
    - hospital done up in London, snacks taken from home
    - dinner from the freezer with enough left for tomorrow, just need to buy more rice tomorrow

Not much else to report for now, hope thise with broken sleep manage to catch up tonight xx :grouphug:

  • Hi all!
My in-laws kept a list for DD when she was smaller DNMS, of ‘Things we could do’ and introduced her to tally charts to record how many times each of the ‘Things’ were chosen. It’s still taped to the inside of their kitchen cupboard door now and DD is nearly 18!
First day back at work has not gone to plan. Forgot to eat lunch so it’s there for tomorrow. This is a big downfall, I don’t then buy or binge to compensate but I do get hangry on the way home. So, lunch has stretched over 2 days and just need some fruit to take in.
Am at aged relatives tonight to give her confidence to be alone again after a long spell in hospital. Nice company for me and means heating can be off at home but is only feasible when I have access to a car, so making use of one while I can!
Have delivered a bike to a younger rellie that DD has grown out of and am making a combined trip to charity shop for all of the rellies as everyone had a bag or two to drop off.
Have got half way with a weary frog of work admin to do to claim monies back. Am determined to complete tomorrow but know it’s lined up to be a long day.
Phones and laptops charged at work. Compensates very slightly for the number of days I work from home and pay for all the power!
Made a payment to cc1 today. Frightened me when I totalled our debt up across all cards. Am working through the budget and all outgoings at the moment to see quite where it goes and all that we owe!
Looking forward to sleep! Night all! X

Morning guys :D madam didn't wake up till 7 and I went to bed early but I'm still tired! Maybe the day will turn out that I can have a nap later.

Pup goes to co-sharer today so we will have a few days off :D Will get dressed and take him for a walk shortly done

Finally starting to get on top of the house :j I'm trying to get us all to be more tidy so we're not constantly tidying up when not at work. From next week I'm really going to explore whether I can make my love of sewing into an income stream. Am planning to use my 2 days I'm not at work while madam is at school developing my skills and setting up a business. Trying to get oh to see why it's important to me that we are more tidy so I don't waste that time. Any tips to do this without it becoming a row would be gratefully received!

I checked my bank yesterday and my energy supplier has doubled my dd  will be calling them this morning and switching!

    other things to do today:

    * [STRIKE]all meals from stores[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]mince out of freezer for tea[/STRIKE] - will cook in the pc :money:
[STRIKE]* get joint of beef out of freezer this evening to defrost for tomorrow when we have friends coming[/STRIKE]
    *[STRIKE] check onepoll[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* do something with madam this afternoon when it's just the two of us. Might take her into town to visit the library & museum. That way I could pick up a parcel I've ordered from Accessorize and return some books ;) Whatever we do we will take food and drinks :money: Might even call in on the outlaws for a coffee :[/STRIKE])
    * finish skirt this morning as didn't do yesterday
[STRIKE]* do some money shuffling [/STRIKE]
    * stick to diet. I put on a few lbs over xmas so want to get them back off!
[STRIKE]* Transfer sewing supplies/fabric into 3 storage boxes we have that are currently doing nothing. At the moment my storage is a cardboard box that is overflowing in my bedroom :o[/STRIKE]
    * finish two paid repairs I have to return on Monday
    * finish book. Today is my last day!
[STRIKE]* if we go into town return one of madam's gifts and swap it for something else (she got 2 of this thing)[/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] deal with a pile of papers sitting on my kitchen side
    * did a search for best place to buy conditioner as have run out. Just so happens it's somewhere I'm passing later :D
    * made a massive batch of squash & pinto beans stew [/STRIKE]
    * now need to dice and freeze the rest of the massive squash!

ok that's all I think! Happy Friday to all you lovely people :D

Morning all :hello: your day sounds lovely DNMS I'm not so much about being tidy (albeit it would be my preferred option :rotfl:) but I find that I just like everything to have a place so we don't spend ages looking for things which in turn makes the house tidy :A I also put things at the top of bottom of the stairs (if they need to go the other way) and then people have to take them up or down when they go past so at least they are on the right floor. It's a start :rotfl: I've also started a daily and weekly list of jobs in my bullet journal to focus the mind, so hopefully we don't have to have big weekly tidy ups/cleaning sessions either.

I had a better nights sleep but still feel rough so I'm going to wfh. It's payday too :j so my plan is:

    Money shuffle
Use last nights tea for tea as we didn't eat it
    Quick vacuum round
    Go to steam room
    Washing shuffle
Extra jumper on rather than heating
Kettle bells as run is out of the question
Lunch will be what I would have taken to work

Have a good day folks. Purps.

    Morning all :)
Looks to be a nice sunny day here, for a change :) Cold though
    Today's plans:
Strip spare bed and remake Done
Load of washing and peg it outside Done, it didn't dry much though as it is so cold. Will go on the airer shortly.
Trip into town as I need a few items from Icyland. I will use L2S vouchers from surveys to keep actual spend down! Managed to pay for all £7.89 of it with vouchers. I assumed that only full £1 counted, but the checkout lady said it would be fine to give me 11p change if I liked :) If anyone is interested and has an Iceland store near them, they currently have huge 3kg bags of an Italian brand of pasta in store for £2.50 :T
Will walk into town to save fuel and for free exercise :)Done
Take a list and record spends in my lovely new diary :)Done

Make 'French bread' pizzas to use up some slightly stale rolls that DD brought round last night - we all opted to have the fresh ones that I had bought at the market with our burgers instead, but these won't be wasted! As we have other bread that needs using, I decided to freeze these, carefully labelled, for another time.
Cauliflower cheese for dinner, using cheap cauli bought from the market, and some of the cheese mountain :)Done
Investigate cheesecake recipes, as I have some not very nice biscuits to use up, and they would lend themselves very well to becoming a cheesecake base :) Used to make these quite a lot, so will look out recipes. Still to do
Continue to monitor fridge and larder to make sure nothing gets wasted. I thought I had cut down on food shopping this Christmas, but the evidence suggests otherwise :oDone
RM surveys stuff done, and accepted an invitation to do a sub-survey which is paid in L2S vouchers :)

Posted DD2's birthday card - I gave her our presents last night. All bought before Christmas and came in under budget :) 2 more birthdays this month though!

Today is grey and cold, not exactly motivating.

Today we plan to spend a couple of hours playing the new board games the children received from our friends earlier in the week. Our friends are passionate and knowledgeable gamers and are very good at selecting games for other people. We will also be enjoying the selection of home made goodies we received along with the games.

Me and OH need to sit down and look at the finances and make some plans for the year.

    Todays plan:
    NSD
    PAD
    Dry washing on airers
    Make bread
    Soak porridge
    Make muesli
    Meal plan
All food and drink from stores

Hopefully I will add more later.

Good morning all, its so nice to see the thread so busy :)
I did sleep better last night thankfully but have a bit of a muzzy head today, I think I need to up my water intake.

Ds2 is at his last day of martial arts training, he's being graded this afternoon so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that! He's really enjoyed the last couple of days as its a mixture of actual training and games like bulldug, tag and musical statues etc It's tired him out which is great as if he'd not gone he'd probably have just wanted to sit playing on games consoles. Money well spent, just need to work some money into my budget for February half term now so that if he wants to do it again he can.

    Todays list
    * popped into MR A and got another 2 pairs of school trousers, a better fit then the ones we got from MR T yesterday so I will return those. Also picked up 2 ys chickens will cook both at the same time for meals over the weekend (we have family over for lunch tomorrow so will do a Roast dinner, the rest can be for sandwiches, into a curry or fajietas)
    * check banking/update spreadsheet done
    * lunch today [STRIKE]will be jacket spud and either cheese and coleslaw that needs using up or beans[/STRIKE] tinned tomato soup with a few crackers and then the last of the banana/peanut butter muffins I made last week with custard! yum
    * Friday night movie night tonight from stash with xmas snacks
    * iron name labels into ds's new school trousers
    * washing away from radiators
    * run the dishwasher on the quick wash and empty done and done
    * book gym sessions for all next week as the kids go back to school on Monday and I need to get back into routine as I've put more then a few lbs on over xmas

Can't think of what else I'm doing, so will add as I go along!

    Take care all.
Also done Rm survey and clicked on for another correctly delivered survey at the end of the month :)
Continued the use up by "helping" the kids to eat their Xmas selection box! As my niece has come for the day and ds1 was having some choc and ds2 had some with him, my niece and I have had a bag of galaxy counters each :) Only fair!
Just done a survey which was very long and tedious :( but it meant I was able to claim a £5 amzon voucher so won't complain anymore

Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
