Hi Turtles:j
Great minds think alike Xspender! However I don't like that there's no coins in there any more...boo. DawnW I've always liked campervans though never been in one. Realistically that money box is the nearest I'm going to get..
NSDs – Aiming for 10 as am going away on 22nd for a few days (Christmas treat) : now 11/10
Make plans for the month – Planned visit to Barcelona later in the month. Rail ticket & plane already paid for. No more plans as yet...hols next week
Always pay your debts first – No debts but do use a cc which is paid in full every month...need to rein this in, spending has been frightful of late..CC paid off in full, now need to make sure it doesn't rack up to those levels this month. No spends today. Going to restart PAD payments to try & get cc balance down. Will check out TCB as I have ££ in there I meant to get out for Christmas - then forgot, doh!
List your frogs – Started another very large frog this week, but am pleased with progress. (Clearing bedroom). Done some frogs from list, now need to list more as plenty still to get to grips with...did another 15 mins on bedroom last night & aim to do same tonight. More progress on bedroom frog, also on kitchen frog. BUT massive frog of clearing out fridge still not done. Must do tomorrow, no excuses, please hold me to account.
Little Savings – Not much savings to be had today but will check what I have in TCB. No spends though.
Chill out – working on this. Always read before sleeping but sometimes counterproductive as I want to keep reading, then can't sleep! Also have been continuing with my complex knitting, can now do whilst watching tv....also needles came today for next very big project..More of the complex knitting, it's really looking like a pattern now, getting to grips with it before I tackle the really big project. And did some FH today as well.
Helping others – Gave DD some lunch here & then something to take into work.
Always be grateful – Grateful for today:
- made cheese scones turned out good
- found more things in stores
- no snow as yet
New to You – not today
Get involved – I'm here!
Exercise – Not much today, too blinking cold.
Sort it out – Need to do this & will be eating from stuffed freezers & cupboards for January. Failed to find inventory of freezer that I wrote the other week, but it must be around somewhere! Made HM soup & cheese scones for lunch, then supper was kedgeree with l/o basmati from curry we had earlier in the week, plus ys fish from freezer, was tasty.
GO Turtles!!!!New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Not a lot done (sleeping pattern hopeless). Phoned mum to see if there was anything she needed as it was trying to snow but flakes were melting before they reached the ground.
Taxi to mum's and spent the afternoon playing with the babies (twin girls will be 2 in April). Finally got to eat (had taken cheese spread and crispbread but hadn't even had a drink before the babies arrived). Did more jigsaw (this one is in 3 panels), took out some things mum wanted for tomorrow and brought home some things she no longer wants (new potatoes from the freezer and a cupcake maker - not sure about that but always bring stuff home if she's decided to let it go).
I've been given a shopping list. Mum was 'thinking about' making me a small birthday party tea but I'm going to change some items to healthy options, lots of salad, low fat dips and maybe one or two treats (rather than crisp and a cake smothered in roll out icing - she'll only get stressed out trying to make it).
Diet of frogs planned for the weekend. Today I am grateful that the weather was okay, for playtime with babies and the dishwasher being empty (and no pile of pots waiting to go in).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
For Thursday and yesterday
Spend free days (NSD’s) – I'm going to aim for 20 as money is going to be pretty tight this month - nothing spent so now on 12/20, will def need to spend tomorrow as running low on a few essentials.
Make plans for the month – I've got a couple of things planned for this month but will make sure that they are as low budget as possible - next up is theatre evening with the girls, ticket already paid for but will probably go out for a meal/drinks before.
Always pay your debts first – Budget is done for January and debt payment has been made - nothing additional paid.
List your frogs – Made a start on this and will add to the list as I think of more - posted thank you cards, found old passport, pulled out bed to hoover underneath, made a start sorting out the cupboard of doom.
Little savings – I've added a whole £2.50 to my emergency fund taking it to £9.50 :rotfl:, will continue to add as I can - nothing added.
Chill out – Will aim to read a bit every day. I've also got a few adult colouring books which have been sitting there for ages so will aim to do some colouring in too - spent some time colouring.
Helping others – I've set up a charity donation which will come out at the start of the month. I'll also add items to the food bank whenever I'm in the supermarket - nothing added.
Always be grateful – Will post 3 gratitudes each day. - coffee, good tunes on the radio and a sausage sarnie for tea
New to You – Me and OH are planning to do a huge sort though of all our stuff, there's still unopened boxes from when we moved in, who knows what treasures we might find- 1 black bag worth of carp removed from the cupboard of doom, few things put in the CS bag.
Get involved – I always struggle with daily posting but will try this month - I'm here
Exercise – I really need to get back into exercising regularly. Now have new running shoes so no excuses! - nothing, did not go for a run on Thursday.
Sort it out – I don't really have anything in the cupboards lurking that doesn't get used except spices but will aim to use up some of them - nothing used.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66
Mortgage overpayment savings - £33.53/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £612.990 -
NSD – 11/15 – at home Monday Tuesday with sickly boy and then work on Wednesday. Done a Lidl shop Thursday as snow was forecast then realised yesterday I needed rolls and milk to had to do a wee top up yesterday. Today I will nip to Sainsbugs and get some bits there that I cant get in Lidl.
Make plans for the month – none come to fruition yet
Always pay your debts first – budget for food set – DD’s all updated and shopping will be updated when I come back with the receipt
List your frogs – kind of got stuck on this one as spent time washing upteem bits of bedding instead!!! Hoping to do some painting this weekend
Little savings – collecting in my 365 challenge
Chill out – had a couple of chill out days with DS2 Monday Tuesday as he was off from school ill so we had sofa days with the tv
Helping others – will do
Always be grateful – 3 things I am grateful for are:
- it didn’t snow last night as predicted
- for central heating keeping us all cosy
- for everyone feeling better
-
New to You – not new to me but may have sold a couple of bits so new to someone else
Get involved – checking in
Exercise – steps done
Sort it out – been using up stuff we bought for xmas but didn’t use, cheese, savoury bakes, haggis bon bons etc so now only have some sausage rolls left which the kids love for lunch at weekends so they won’t last long.0 -
Today will be NSD 14 as I filled up the cupboards with lunchbox tat yesterday and filled up with petrol.
Bought a few things on the 'things I need to buy' list, and got a free month of delivery from the South American River website by accident by clicking on the wrong button, but it is free so I have diarized the date and will cancel before I have to pay for it. Anyway - the less than £20 spend will sort another 3 frogs before bedtime.
Got up at normal weekday time and cleaned the living room and had a lovely coffee and got 2 kids out of the house to sports clubs before DH even made it out of the bedroom. It must be so nice to have a wife - a much underrated item.
My lists are looking much smaller! Which is marvelous, until you realise the ones left are the big jobs which need builders. Eeek! But then we all knew 2019 was going to be 'The Year of the Builder' around here.
So all is good, which is something to be grateful for in itself, that DS1 is up already and ready to go to his DofE volunteering session without us chasing him around the house with a whip and a chair, for his plans to make the chocolate cake this afternoon, for splatting at least three frogs in one day!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hi all
Today was a spend day as I had made plans I knew would cost & I went to Aldi for a bottle of wine. Annoyingly I dropped it the second I walked in the door & had to go back out for another
plans- tomorrow is the boys swimming lesson.
Frogs- 4 on the list now
Chill out- having a cheeky glass of wine with hub, lighting some candles I got for xmas.
Gratitude- thankful for the kind lady who was very patient with my kids today, for the smell of my new yankee candle & for digging out books we've never even opened for the boys. Ive piled them up as a reminder to read them as well as their established favourites.
Sort it out- used some YS bacon & buns for breakfast & finally getting through all the potatoes I have in
Had a long chat with hub about our goals this year & he was saying about watching purchases like take away coffee & how they add up, I really feel like he's getting the idea! Hopefully it's not forever, only 11 more car payments & 11 more months of deposit saving hopefully!! Roll on 20200
