Frump to Fab 2019 - Here We Go Again

My goals for 2019 are:
- To lose more weight, at least 1.5 - 2 more stone.
- To make sure I get my hair cut regularly.
- Continue to sort out my wardrobe and get rid of anything I don't like/ or just use as nightwear.
- Every day vitamins, moisturiser, perfume, floss and take off my make up at night!:D
My goals for January:
1. Buy some charity shop clothes and dye them. I still have the blue and emerald green dyes left to do. I did the purple dye last night! A few things came out weird but they are nightwear now!
2. Get my hair cut.
3. See the dentist and hygienist, I only went once last year!:o
4. Lose at least a pound a week.
5. Start exercising on my trampoline as well as walking daily.

Hope you all had a lovely evening.....however you decided to spend it.
I went to a family party, it was lovely, nice nibbles, a few bubbles, a silly game, a mixture of English and Spanish traditions, and lots of cuddles with my gorgeous grandson. He's just coming up to 6 months now and is actually starting to be rather fun.
Everyone comments that they have noticed that my grandson seems absolutely fascinated by me - I think it must be my white hair. Lol. Everyone else in the family still has dark hair. Although my youngest son is starting to look "distinguished" - very George Clooney.:rotfl:
Anyway we all had a lovely time. I can truthfully say that for the first time since my husband died I didn't shed any New Year's Eve tears. A big leap forward.
All Things Must Pass......even grief and sorrow comes to an end eventually. I have to say I am looking forward to 2019 with such hope and optimism.
I just have a feeling.........that something good is going to happen. (There's a fabulous Kate Bush song with that lyric.....must try and find it and play it today. I love her)
Anyhoo.......are we ready to begin.
Let's get started......I promise to ease you in gently to today. Nothing too taxing today.
For the Newbies........and as a reminder to everyone else.
Step 1 Wear Perfume - every day.
That's it, nice and simple. It's easy, it's painless. But the ramications go far beyond the obvious of smelling nice. You will find out.;)
Not sure how or why it works but the fact is if you want to be a Goddess then you have to smell divine. What could be more lovely then wafting around smelling gorgeous and leaving your own signature smell in your wake.
Frugal Tip.......if you have a Perfume that is too strong or that you don't feel is quite right for you, try diluting it before you dispose of it. You can add some to either a carrier oil such as grape seed oil (no smell and as cheap as chips) to make a luxurious body oil. If you don't like oils then use a plain lotion such as E45 - again it has no smell and is dirt cheap.
Hey presto a luxurious body moisturiser for pennies.
Now time for my word this year.
PANACHE.
I am by no means wealthy but hopefully I can still be chic and stylish and live with grace and a little luxury, all it takes is a bit of work, a dash of imagination and a bit of flair.
Ladies, I wish you the best of everything this year. May all your dreams, hopes and wishes come true.
What an absolutely lovely positive post.
I always wear perfume even if I’m going to the corner shop, always have done. My fave and signature scent is Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau so Fresh. My dad buys me a bottle of this every Christmas so I’m never without. Also got a viktor & Rolf Bon Bon set this year to so look forward to using that.0 -

Happy New Year!:T
We stayed up last night so feeling a bit washed out today. I did manage to get out for a bit of a walk though and I will have some water later (managed that yesterday too). It was only 500mls of water to add to all my teas through the day but it's a start. Same with the exercise. I plan to do something every day whether it's a good exercise like dancing or just a walk around the block.humptydumptybits wrote: »Well I fail straight away, can't wear perfume as DH is allergic.
That's a shame. Does the same apply to body lotion and hand cream and the like?
I really like the Argan Moroccan Rose body wash from Waitrose. It's a lovely smell. Can anyone recommend a rose smelling perfume? I really could do with an Eau de Parfum rather than a cologne/eau du toilette as it lasts longer although I'm still hankering after Jo Malone's Grapefruit.
Thanks for the shampoo info humpty. Those are eye watering prices.
I'm going to try a week of using the Flaxseed oil as a serum. It's partly to see if it's as good as the Clarins but also I'm being a bit mse.:money: I'm trying to eke out my serum and moisturiser until next month so I can buy some duty free and save a bit.0 -
I'm joining you with the regular hair cut thing.I hate the hairdressers more than the dentists:eek::rotfl:

Its the Dylon pods from Amazon. A couple of items come out weird for me every time, but maybe that is because I don't bother to weigh the clothes first.:D
A lot of the clothes I use are from the £1 charity shop so it's not exactly a big deal if they come out a little strange.:rotfl:2025 GOALS

Maman, Paul Smith's Rose perfume is lovely and not terribly expensive. In fact it's often on offer in airports. TJ Hughes also has it now and again.
It's one of my day perfumes.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Thanks for the new thread LL. Can I join you?
I'm off to a great start as I've cleansed and moisturised my face plus sprayed a small amount of perfume that I got for Christmas but I'm looking for some general beauty guidance as a bit of a novice in this area.
Perfume Query
I'll need to find a perfume that I like but I'm going to buy some of the sets of miniature ones so I can try some scents without buying the bigger bottles. What scent do you ladies wear?
Skincare Query
I've purchased some La Roche Posey trial size bottles as my face is sensitive and everything I seem to buy to cleanse it made my face go red i.e. simple, cetaphil etc. I've also purchased the Avene trial size set so I'll try that after the LRP is finished then probably pick the one that suits my face the best. What brand of cleanser/moisturiser do you use?
ETA - Just wanted to add my thanks in advance to anyone who replies to my queries.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

maman he is allergic to all perfumed products, I have to use all unscented stuff or very lightly scentnted so unscented washing powder, no softener as they all smell, no perfume in antiperspirant. If I do use something with a scent, like my bath products I got for Christmas, I have to stay away from him for several hours so if I have a bath in something smelly I sleep in the spare room. What a life! Perfume makes him sneeze and due to his degenerative spinal condition sneezing is actually quite dangerous. Visitors know not to wear anything strongly scented when they are coming but obviously I generally get closer to him than visitors do.
The hair products are horrendously expensive. I was just checking out my hair on a trip to the bathroom and it really has made a difference, I am thinking if I use them alternate days they would last me 3 to 4 months so about £300 a year. I usually use whatever is on offer at the supermarket to wash/condition my hair so it seems a ridiculous price but then again I think I don't spend alot on myself, can't buy perfume for a start! I will use this lot and see how I feel but at the moment I'm thinking I will use it again. What is our crowning glory worth?0
