Her meausrements and weight probably varied just like the rest of us. If someone said in 2018 Humpty measured 36 26 38 it would have been accurate in April but by June it would have been 34 24 36 because I was ill for a few weeks and lost weight. I worked with someone who had to take a weeks holiday after Christmas one year as she literally couldn't get into her work clothes, she wore a uniform. A week of no eating and working out meant she dropped a dress size and could just squeeze back into her uniform and do the buttons up so in the space of 3 weeks she went up two dress sizes and then down one.

That's why I quoted one specific date - ie when she was "normal for her".

If my memory serves me right - people have been saying you are underweight at the moment:huh::huh::huh: 34-24-36 is an absolutely correct weight to be (though 36-26-38 is also an "absolutely correct weight") - so I don't understand why they are saying that.....first possible explanation I can think of being jealousy....

I know exactly what 34-26-34 looks like (my mothers figure). I know exactly what 36-26-36 looks like (my normal figure). The fact I've not had my "normal figure" for a while now doesn't mean it isn't still "my normal figure" - ie I've spent most of my life that figure and am going back to it now.

Obviously people go up and down very slightly - quite apart from "putting on weight" so to say. My mother is now underweight - thanks to illness, so is probably around 33-23-33 and that is too thin.

The biggest variation I can think of one person is an ex-boyfriend of mine that was about 2 stones overweight when he started going out with me (though, at his height, it didnt really show much). Not long after starting to go out with me - he got to his absolutely perfect figure (I hadn't said a word LOL). Some years afterwards I bumped into him and realised I'd been positively gawping with horror/surprise at seeing him looking a Huge Blob. Some months later I bumped into him and he was back to "nearly normal". So - yep...same thing again....and however-many-years he had spent looking like a Blob weren't his "normal".

I don't think my doctor is jealous, she is actually alot thinner than I am. You probably missed the post where I had a check up and she admitted she would estimate my weight as 1.5 st lighter than I actually am, I presume I carry weight well. If you remember my posts about the doctor nagging me to put some weight on you might remember I said my weight was fine according to my BMI.

If I was 1.5 st lighter than I am I would be underweight. I have been significantly lighter than I am now when I was in my 20s, again I lost weight when I was ill and it just seemed to become my normal for a long time. I actually looked awful and one day I destroyed all the photos of me at that weight. Thinner isn't always better.

I was alot thinner than your mother, I went down to under 6 st, no medical explanation and it was a very gradual process over several years for my weight to increase, over a long period I gained over a stone or so and am now the weight and measurements I was as a teenager. I think I am the correct weight for me, my height and build, but it wouldn't matter if I gained a stone, if I lost another stone I would look drawn.

Just to add it was only my doctor who felt I'd lost too much weight when I was ill. It might have been because I was looking ill and losing weight fast isn't a good idea.
  • Anyway - back to starting the New Year on a positive note.....

Hope I can join in everyone.. more into property threads but fell over this one whilst drinking my coffee this morning (must try and stop this habit..4th this morning !!)

Bit of a back story ..originally from SE Oxfordshire but moved to Wales 4 years ago , my late Mum and I were having one last adventure together. Sadly she didn't make the move and I felt very isolated away from family (Hubby stayed in Oxford for work)

Jumped over the border into Hereford and have lived here for 3 years but house under offer hoping to move back home soon (A whole stressful saga I won't bore the pants off you)

Now to how I am physically , definitely a frump that's for sure .

I have lots of rescue animals and spend my days in wellies and prefer outside so a quick shower at some point of the day with a slap of moisturiser plus clean but shabby clothing , consisting jeans and t shirt and hoodie

Clothes are something I very rarely buy as going out on a social level never happens and are mostly bought for being functional

I do have a back up wardrobe but consists of best jeans and a few tops.

I'm comfortable with this as even going out I don't particularly want to change from how I am...but my biggest problem is the old face and what to do with it

Hoping to get some tips and tricks .. I will be 55 this summer and a very skinny Minnie. I am comfortable in my own skin now as I've been like this for many years and the hopes for curves have long since vanished ..but being like this it doesn't fill out the face too well.

I'm not too bad but the eye areas are real problem areas and never know how to wear makeup

Years ago when the Panda look was all the rage it was fine but now I know less is more but too little and it looks like I haven't made an effort ..so hope you don't mind me joining you all.

I am also into the bunny friendly products so will be an avid reader and probably poster over the coming months if that's OK looking for inspiration
  • Two days running I'm up, dressed nice (but casual - no ball gowns) and face on. Out with dogs once I've finished my coffee. I've also had a squirt of perfume. DKNY cashmere misfits my favourite.
MAMAN, I think Jo Malone do a rose perfume. Maybe you can treat yourself to the grapefruit and the rose one in one of their duos.

    Hello Ladies,

I was having issues accessing my email account, but today everything is back to normal. :D

I went to the pub on New Year's Eve and had a great time dancing the night away. :j I wore a Joanna Hope navy chiffon layered skirt, a navy silk and velvet v neck strappy Kaleidoscope top with a beaded and sequinned navy Kaleidoscope chiffon edge to edge jacket. I wore a pair of elegant Van Dal navy leather slingbacks, my Heather Valley navy and white raincoat with my red M & S leather gloves. I was carrying a navy small navy handbag. I wore solid gold 18ct jewllery: necklace and pendant, bracelet and ring with my QVC chandelier gold on solid silver and diamonique earrings. :D

I layered my Red Door perfume with the matching shower gel, body lotion and body powder. I wore brown iridescent brown eye shadow, navy blue eyeliner above my top lashes, black mascara, clear nail polish and clear lip gloss. :D I had intended to wear gold nail polish but as I had managed to break all 10 of my fingernails over the last 2 weeks, I realised that the gold nail polish did not look flattering on my much shorter nails.

I looked as fabulous as I could for the New Year's Eve party. I felt glamorous, pretty and confident. :j:D

3 male regulars at the pub went out of their way to say hello to me and gave me very appreciative looks. :D

There were only 2 hiccups to my night out. I forgot to take my painkillers with me and as a consequence I had to cut my night short when I started to get pains from all of my dancing. :( Wayne showed up with the woman I discovered 3 months ago he had cheated on me with throughout the whole length of our on and off relationship.

I was friends with Wayne once I decided to call time on our relationship. He took me for a meal 3 months ago and at the end of the evening he accidentally left his smart phone with me. While his phone was in my possession and I was on the bus going to meet him at the pub to return it, this woman kept on phoning Wayne. Once I was off the bus, I answered the phone to this woman and she begged me to talk to her. I was reluctant at first, explaining that Wayne was on his way to collect his phone and she should speak to him. Anyway she would not give up and we had a very enlightening conversation. Wayne had been in a long term on and off relationship with this woman Juliet for 7 years! He was planning to buy a home with her and to get married to her in April 2019.

I stopped having any contact with Wayne until a week ago, even though we saw each other regularly at the pub we both go to. We were just beginning to talk on the phone and text each other again as friends only. Well that is now over forever. He is a complete waste of space as a man and Juliet is welcome to him.

I am not sure why Wayne chose New Year's Eve to bring Juliet to the pub with him, but she looked a proper frump. She looks older than me although we are the same age and she was dressed all in nondescript black and had made no effort with her personal grooming. Juliet was oblivious to the fact that all night Wayne kept on looking at me, but I just ignored him. Wayne has never come to the pub with her since our 1st date and he kept her well hidden throughout our 2 and a half years on and off relationship. I knew what she looked like from photos of her Wayne had on his phone and his Facebook account where we were Facebook friends, but Juliet had no idea what I looked like. Wayne had always said she was his cousin. :( I was watching her discreetly looking around the large crowd of people in the pub trying to figure out if I was there, when she was standing right next to me. :rotfl:

My holiday to Jamaica in May with my 2 sisters is booked and paid for. :j:D I have bought my first ever pink cerise tankini to wear on holiday. :D It is size 14 and too tight at the moment but will look great by the time I am going on holiday in May.

I have a ticket to the theatre tomorrow for a matinee performance of Switzerland which I am really looking forward to.

3forholidays My DH has quite sensitive skin & uses sebamed face wash, they do a few different products and may be worth a try.

I had a 30% off code for Lindybop so bought myself 4 dresses from the sale section for just under £60. Two are more fancy/going out dresses and two are more day dresses. The day dresses are in a style & shape which I know suit me but will have to try the others on before deciding whether to keep them or not. This one and this one are the fancier dresses. This one and this one are the day dresses - I already have this style in a couple of colours so they should be fine. They're cotton and nice quality so worth getting some more.

Planning on starting adriene's new 30 day yoga challenge on y0utube tonight once DS is in bed. :)
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.

I had a quick look at the lindybob site sashy. What lovely dresses. They'd be perfect for my dancing but I'm NOT buying anything new unless I really need it.:(

I picked up some lightweight casual trousers in Primark yesterday. I've yet to try them on and none may be suitable. I'm thinking ahead to my holiday in India next month. I have a couple of loose dresses that will be good for sightseeing and plenty of skirts but only one pair of (fairly old) summery trousers. They're not essential but I could wear more supportive shoes with them than my usual sandals. I'll report back when I've tried them on. :)

Your outfit sounds super glamorous for NYE sugarbaby. And so Wayne has shown himself in his true colours. No surprises there! It's interesting comparing how others look when you know they're the same age. It's a variation on people watching. ;)

I'd agree about crash dieting and setting goals too high. I know I'm being pedantic but I hate it when people describe SW as a diet. It's only a 'diet' in the literal sense as in an eating programme. I've met too many people who go at it 'bull at a gate', don't have their treats and feel miserable and deprived and then they give up.:(

As for an ideal weight: I'd agree it doesn't have to be stick thin or any particular size. It has to be what you're happy with. Personally I'm happy in the middle of my height range on those height weight charts.
    https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/height-weight-chart/

If I stray too far to the lower end then my arms and neck look scrawny, towards the top and my waistbands start to feel a bit tight. If being a size you used to be years ago is what motivates you money then that's fine.:)

Thanks for the Jo Malone info midge. :)

I've done all the routine fabbing this morning. Yesterday I had my walk/fresh air but left it too late to have the water. I'm making up for it today. I've had 2 large glasses already and will fit in more this afternoon. I've got a parcel to take to the post office so that'll be my short walk for today. I've also got a difficult email to write. I keep composing it in my head but need to get it done. :(

  • Everyone sounds very fab, I'll have to wait to get rid of the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer look before I can do anything fab.ou

Sugarbaby your outfit sounds lovely, poor Juliet you have to pity her, at least you got away from him, sounds like her life with him isn't going to be very fab.

Candygirl a non sneeze perfume? Maybe I should try it, I'd love to wear perfume again, if it doesn't make DH sneeze that would be wonderful. Maybe they'd give me a sample? Estee Lauder Youth Dew is the worst for him.
