  • I got the heating fixed thankfully. I hope you will be warm enough candygirl. It can be grim feeling- the cold.
I got the heating system refurbished all more efficient and lower usage of fuel. I have seriously lowered the carbon foot print personally that I was going to generate. Excellent but expensive outlay. It will save money long term. I got some unexpected money so rather than buying something expensive to wear I am putting into trying to get the energy rating up on the house. It gives me options if i want to sell or rent it later I can charge more for a more efficient home.

  • My Feb goals, go to the gym more, loose five lbs or more. Also need to sort my nails out they are still in a bad way. The quicks on my thumbs are split and sore and the nails keep splitting.
  • I bought a halogen portable heater a couple of years ago and it throws off a lot of heat. It was really quite cheap as well, only about £20.

Ooh that's interesting. I've often looked at them and wondered. Great for emergencies I should think.

This is my long term plan too. If I make this house more energy efficient it will make me more money in the long term plus I get the benefits of living more comfortably in the meantime.

This won't be a forever house, it will be too big when I'm old and decrepit. I reckon around 5 to 8 years here.

Went to my sons garden centre, had a lovely brunch and a nice chat with their tree expert. My next outdoor job is Planning the garden and planting trees and shrubs. I've got a pretty good idea now about orientation, light and shade etc.

Ive enjoyed catching up on everyones posts and seeing all the goals. First of all Maman reminded me about drinking more water I love water so its not a problem , apart from i forget to drink it , sooooooooo every now and then please giVe me a reminder somebody , Just say MOLL DRINK YOUR WATER

Candygirl hope you are managing to stay warm . My kitchen before i got radiators in there ,,,,,you could see my breath, Didint stay in there long cooking in Winter. !!Over the years weve modernised and the radiators in there in my mind has been one of the best things weve done , We try to make the house as energy efficient as possible , but its hard with an old house like this . Solid walls too no cavity , so no insulation ,

Savingfortomorrow im so pleased you got the heating
    fixed .

Well my January goals .i only lost about 3ibs , which is rubbish , I lost more "When " i stuck to it all properly , but then id have a day or so doing it all half hearted , and put some back on , Jan was a rough month for me , and i tend to comfort eat when stressed , but again , thats no excuse , When i used to go to Slimming World , the consultant used to say , Do what youve always done , and Have what youve always had,,,,,no change , and its true .

LL Dont worry my diet buddy , im with you all the way and WE WILL get to our birthday goals , Im like you and worked out how much i need to lose to stay on track for our dates . Ive been writing down all my meals . Upped the exersize , ( I also have an elliptical Trainer , and i also use the rowing machine ) but ive let the exersize slide a lot since the cold weather as the equipment is in the garage , and thiers no heating in there.........Its an integral garage though so i dont have to go outside to get into it . This morning , ok it was cold and frosty , but so beautifull and sunny , Doesnt the sunshine make you feel more like doing stuff. and i walked for miles with the dog , Was really chuffed with what i achieved today . You have done wonderful on the inch loss , Well done

My DD cut my hair this morning , same style , but tidied it up and i feel more presentable ,

Good Luck everyone with your Feb Goals , and stay warm xx

    Good morning lovely ladies

Enjoy your trip down memory lane Moll. And yes get your beauty sleep. It's so important. I managed 8 hours last night. I love it when that happens. I feel so much better. One of the benefits for me of a good night's sleep is that I find it easier next day to stick to healthy food choices. I always feel really hungry when I'm overtired. I can't fast when I'm tired.

I have to confess I love to wallow in reminiscences from time to time. Old films do it for me but one of my favourites is to watch The music programmes on BBC4. They show some great concerts and some really good documentaries about my favourite rock gods and goddesses. :rotfl:

It's amazing some of them are still alive let alone still out there, still recording and still performing and touring.........given the life of excess some of them have led in their youth.

I admit Keith Richards looks like a walking cadaver but some of them still look pretty good, despite their sex and drugs and rock n roll lifestyles. Some of the females look fantastic.

I know many of them have had a few nips and along the way but their bodies must be in good nick because all that touring must be brutal. I think they must be really disciplined with their diet and exercise regimes.

I guess touring and performing is probably now their drug of choice......:rotfl:

Raining here......going to have a nice home spa morning and then I need to do some paperwork, banking, bill paying etc.

LL have you read Keith Richard's autobiography? It's a real eye opener;):D
Am staying in today, waiting for the part for my fire to be delivered. Sick of the whole saga:mad:

No I haven't.....I didn't know he'd written one. I bet it's a cracking read. Hope you get some joy with your heating. I can well imagine you must be thoroughly cheesed off.

Good news.....just heard from the booking agents that the cruise company have allowed me to switch my Iceland trip. So instead of June this year, I'm going August next year.

As well as easing the financial pressure it actually suits my time frame much better. I can have a straight run through the summer to get work done in the house And get the garden established.

Who knows I might even be able to have a cheap winter holiday next winter as well. :rotfl:
